UK WINNERS & LOSERS SUMMARY: Next At Five-Year High Amid Outlook Raise

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers within the main London indices on Tuesday.

FTSE 100 - WINNERS

----------

Next, up 8.8%. The retailer bumped up its financial 2021 pretax profit forecast slightly to GBP370 million from GBP365 million. Next said that its full price sales over the holiday trading stretch fell by less than initially anticipated. Next's share price reached its highest level in more than five years.

AVEVA, up 5.4%. UBS lifted its recommendation for the IT firm to Buy from Neutral.

FTSE 250 - WINNERS

----------

Softcat, up 9.1%. The IT infrastructure firm was the best mid-cap performer after it said its trading performance has continued to be positive in the first half of its financial year to date, leaving the company "significantly ahead" of where it expected to be.

Ferrexpo, up 4.5%. The iron ore miner announced plans for a 13.2 US cents special interim payout. "The special interim dividend announced today reflects the strong operational and financial performance of the group in 2020, and strong balance sheet," the company said.

Royal Mail, up 4.0%. Berenberg raised the postal service provider to Hold from Sell.

----------

OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - WINNERS

GETECH, up 10%. The provider of data and software to the energy industry said it has penned a "multi-year licence agreement" for its Globe platform with a national energy firm. The deal adds GBP563,000 to GETECH's order book.

Impax Asset Management, up 7.9%. Said its assets under management at December 31, the end of its first quarter, was GBP25.2 billion, a company record and 25% higher quarter-on-quarter.

OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - LOSERS

Petro Matad, down 9.8%. The Mongolian oil firm said says meeting with Mineral Resource Professional Council of Mongolia has taken place, as Petro eyes securing an exploitation licence for Heron discovery at Block XX.
