Price comparison website for financial services Moneysupermarket.com announced the appointment of Bruce Carnegie-Brown, the former chair of its remuneration committee, as Chairman of the board.He was set to take up his new responsibilities at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will take place on April 23rd 2014. Brown joined the company in April 2010 as an independent Non-Executive Director and assumed the chair of the remuneration committee in January 2013.The newly appointed chief said: "I look forward to leading the board and working with Peter Plumb and his strong management team during the next phase of MoneySupermarket's growth, as we save more people more money."His predecessor at the post, Gerald Corbett, added: "It has been a great experience chairing MoneySupermarket through its flotation, the credit crunch and the strong growth in the business that the management team has delivered." The company, which enables consumers to compare prices on a range of products such as flights, insurance and energy was founded by Simon Nixon and Duncan Cameron in 1993. The group, which is a constituent of the FTSE 250 index, was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2007 after Cameron left the business and sold his 47% stake to Nixon for £162m, due to a falling out.As of 10:29 shares of the firm were only slightly lower, slipping by 0.05% to the 191.6p mark.WS
