Market researcher YouGov's trading has met expectations recently despite continuing difficult trading environment experienced by the entire marketing services sector. "The company has begun to see the benefits of the increased focus on its key growth areas of business as well as the cost reduction measures put in place earlier in the year," it said. "These actions should help to improve underlying profitability in the next financial year although we envisage that market conditions will remain challenging, at least until the end of 2009," it added.Storage group Lok'n'Store reports robust trading in the second half of the financial year to 31 July, recovering strongly from the challenging economic conditions prevailing in the first half of the year.In each of the last six months occupancy has seen a month on month increase, recovering earlier falls, and is now up 2% year-on-year. Average revenue per square ft, which was softer in the winter, is also rising again, it said.Ferrochrome producer International Ferro Metals has raised £22.2m from a placing of 50.4m shares at 44p each.The money will help it build a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) compliant electricity co-generation plant at a cost of about ZAR255m (£19.6m), providing 11% of its electricity needs.Wind turbine maker Clipper Windpower has rallied on news it expects to deliver about 300 turbines in 2009 and has achieved 127 already.We are already beginning to see keen increased interest in the Liberty turbine as financing begins to return to the market," said president and chief executive Doug Pertz.Miner African Eagle's Zanzui nickel laterite project in Tanzania has thrown up a positive set of leach test results showing average nickel extractions of 71%.It says mineralisation appears similar to that at the promising Dutwa project, currently African Eagle's main focus.Namibia-focused miner Kalahari Minerals is stronger Monday after Extract resources, in which it has a 40% stake, said Rossing South could be one of the world's largest uranium mines.Broker Ambrian called the results of a scoping study "outstanding".
