The banks - Lloyds, RBS and Barclays - took the top spots, rising around 3% each, as markets digest last night's developments from the EU summit.Mining peers Fresnillo, ENRC, Kazakhmys, Xstrata and Antofagasta were also making gains. The sale could be worth up to $20bn.IMI was the biggest faller as Credit Suisse cut its rating to "underperform" after the brokers highlighted the stock, which trades heavily in Europe, as being as risk from the ongoing economic turmoil. British gas owner Centrica also fell on news it is to spend $58m (£37m) buying gas assets in Canada as it continues to grow its North American business.
