FTSE 250 movers: Imagination Tech extends recent declines

Thu, 23rd Jan 2014 15:25
Imagination Technologies Group was once again a big faller despite Liberum Capital recommending investors buy the stock, saying it was 'overhyped on the way up and has been oversold on the way down'. The share price has fallen from 552p in March 2013 to its current level of less than 193p. IP Group declined after announcing its plan to acquire the remaining 80% stake in Fusion IP for around £70m, which it is funding through the issue of as many as 45.45m shares by way of a placing, open offer and offer for subscription at 165p a share. Meanwhile, African Barrick Gold tracked the price of gold higher, boosted by the news released earlier this week that the Tanzania-focused miner had exceeded its full fiscal-year guidance for gold production. Fellow miner Kenmare Resources was also higher after it reported a 120% increase in ore mined at its Moma Mine in Mozambique to 7.66 tonnes with grades improving 11%.Soft drinks maker AG Barr climbed after it said trading remained strong in the final quarter of the financial year and revealed it expects full-year revenue of around £252m, reflecting year-on-year growth of 6.1%.
