Guscio launches schools sport sponsorship programme

Wed, 23rd Nov 2016 09:03

(ShareCast News) - Guscio, an AIM-listed technology company focused on programmes in physical literacy and sporting assessment, has launched a sponsorship programme called Skills2Achieve Champions for schools around the UK.The programme, developed with the Youth Sport Trust (YST), enables philanthropic organisations, corporate individuals and high net worth individuals to acquire packages of licenses for the benefit of clusters of primary schools of their choice and provide such schools with the company's innovative tracking and assessment programme for physical literacy.Saracens Sport Foundation, the charitable arm of European rugby union champions Saracens, and independent secondary school Haileybury School have both become inaugural S2A Champions. Each have sponsored the cost of providing the S2A licenses to separate clusters of primary schools. The company is in talks with several HNWIs, organisations and schools interested in joining the Champions programme to improve the health and wellbeing of young people, drive achievement and impact the whole school improvement.Under the existing collaboration between the company's subsidiary Sportsdata and online retailer supporting YST Youth Sport Direct, Sportsdata receives 50% of the revenue from any S2A licenses sold by YSD.Managing director Gail Ganney said: "The health and well-being of our young people impacts all areas of their development and progress and, with childhood obesity rising, there has never been a more important time to help young people develop their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. We are therefore delighted with the response from individuals and organisations nationwide keen to support groups of their local schools, to develop happy and healthy young people equipped to succeed."The share price rose 7.69% to 3.50p at 0943 GMT on Wednesday.
