LONDON (Alliance News) - Drug giant GlaxoSmithKline could become the latest takeover target in the pharmaceutical industry, according to the Mail Online.
The website of the Daily Mail newspaper reported Tuesday that dealers were speculating that GlaxoSmithKline may face an approach from Swiss peers Roche or US-based Johnson & Johnson at about 1900 pence per share, valuing it at more than GBP92 billion.
Shares in the company were up 1.0% at 1,363.82p Tuesday mid-morning, one of the best performers in the FTSE 100.
