Future PLC - Bath, England-based magazine publisher - Buys digital-only women's lifestyle publisher WhoWhatWear. The US-based publisher has 12 million online users and 10 million social followers. IN BRIEF: Mercantile Investment Trust swings to investment gains

Mercantile Investment Trust PLC - London-based investment company focused on medium and smaller sized companies in the UK - Net asset value per share rises to 277.7 pence at January 31 from 251.0p at the same time the previous year. Gains on investments in the year ended January 31 swings to a profit of GBP228.2 million from a loss of GBP163.3 million the previous year.
