Thu, 17th Jun 2021 11:00

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Thursday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Alphawave IP Group PLC, up 4.6% at 330.85 pence, down 19% from May's initial public offering price of 410.00p. Liberum starts coverage on semiconductor intellectual property company with a Buy rating.

----------

Funding Circle Holdings PLC, up 4.4% at 165.00p, 12-month range 55.70p-161.60p. The peer-to-peer lender sells SME loans in two US warehouses to an unnamed asset manager or GBP63 million, which represents a fair value gain of GBP4 million.

----------

Halfords Group PLC, up 1.6% at 412.20p, 12-month range 130.00p-413.60p. The cycling equipment and motoring parts retailer posts rise in annual earnings, benefitting from Covid-19 pandemic. For financial year to April 2, revenue rises to GBP1.29 billion from GBP1.16 billion last year and pretax profit of GBP64.5 million from GBP19.4 million. Halfords proposes final dividend of 5.00p having paid nothing for financial 2020. Halfords positive on outlook for financial 2022 and plans full-year dividend of 9.00p. Mark Crouch, analyst at eToro, says: "Halfords has been one of the stars of lockdown, with booming bicycle sales lifting the retailer's share price by nearly 140% of the past 12 months. Profit before tax has soared more than 72% in the past year, allowing it to reintroduce its dividend, which will please shareholders. But it also means the bar has been set high for future results."

----------
