EKF Diagnostics To Pay Maiden Dividend Amid Covid-19 Testing Boost

Mon, 14th Sep 2020 12:32

(Alliance News) - EKF Diagnostics Holdings PLC on Monday posted a double-digit revenue rise and said its profit almost trebled during a first half, which was boosted by sales of its MTM sample collection device for Covid-19 testing.

Revenue in the six months to June 30 rose 23% to GBP26.3 million from GBP21.4 million. The Cardiff-based diagnostics and central laboratory assay manufacturer's pretax profit nearly tripled to GBP6.2 million from GBP2.2 million.

"We have delivered tremendous growth in the first half due to strong sales of the PrimeStore MTM sample collection device and a far more robust performance in the core business than we'd originally anticipated given the likely impact of Covid-19," Non-Executive Chair Christopher Mills said.

"We are seeing signs of improved performance in both Diabetes and Hematology and the continued demand for PrimeStore MTM means that we remain confident that, for the full year, we will exceed previously revised management expectations."

EKF proposed a maiden dividend of one pence per share.

EKF shares were 6.3% lower at 53.39p each in London on Monday afternoon.
