LONDON (Alliance News) - ECR Minerals PLC said Wednesday that it restarted its work in Argentina at its exploration programme at Sierra de las Minas gold prospective licence.
Earlier this year, the company had put the project on hold deciding to "watch developments and conserve resources for a period". However, after a visit to the country and on the back of its "enhanced financial strength", the company decided to resume operations.
During the visit to the country, ECR was able to identify potentially high-grade gold mineralisation at the project, it said.
"Of particular interest during the company’s visit we have identified additional licence areas that could complement the existing gold prospective ground and we will provide further updates in due course if there are any developments in this area," ECR added.
ECR shares were trading down 2.6% at 0.95 pence each.
