Digital Barriers agrees video technology partnership with G4S

(ShareCast News) - Software developer Digital Barriers' has agreed a partnership with security services giant G4S for its ThruVis camera technology, which is designed to detect threats concealed under clothing such as weapons or explosives.As part of the agreement, G4S will offer Digital Barriers' ThruVis capability for contracts that require security for crowded public spaces including transportation hubs and sporting, leisure and other special events. that has not been available until partnership will offer Digital Barriers' ThruVis capability to G4S, the function of which is to, without disrupting the flow of people.Digital Barriers said ThruVis has been used by various government agencies around the world and was now being made available across the broader public safety market, with demand expected to come around preventing attacks on so-called 'soft targets'.Chief executive Zak Doffman said: "Our partnership with G4S will help to secure public spaces and event venues globally, providing an additional layer of security that is not in place today."Eric Alexander of G4S Events said: "G4S is embracing cutting edge-technology and working with industry partners such as Digital Barriers to provide solutions that protect the public from sophisticated and covert threats. G4S is supporting this technology as a unique way to secure event venues, significantly enhancing traditional security measures such as metal detectors and baggage checks.The Digital Barriers share price rose 2.15% to 47.50p by 0935 BST on Monday.
