LONDON (Alliance News) - Cyber security company Corero Network Security PLC said Wednesday its Smartwall Threat Defense System technology earned a 'Recommended' status in security company NSS Labs Inc's tests.
NSS Labs examines the security of IT products, and recently completed a set of tests on products which prevent distributed denial of service attacks, a form of hack that makes on online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.
Corero's SmartWall Threat Defense System is among the products which looks to provide protection against these attacks, and was included in the test along with products from five other companies.
Corero said it had a strong performance in all test categories and earned a Recommended rating, which it said is "awarded for high-performing technology solutions".
"The NSS Labs test results provide further validation of the industry-disrupting capabilities of Corero's SmartWall TDS. Our technology is optimised to deliver security efficacy with zero false positives at unprecedented performance levels, and we're delighted to have that recognised by NSS Labs," said Chief Executive Ashley Stephenson.
Shares in Corero were untraded on Wednesday, having last traded at 24.40 pence.
