Fri, 22nd Jan 2021 14:41

Character Group PLC - Surrey, England-based toy, games and gifts manufacturer - Says sales for the four months ended December 31 were up over 20% year-on-year as UK sales, international sales and sales to the US were all higher than the comparable period in 2019.

Highlights that despite the lockdowns and resultant difficulties, it expects underlying profitability of for the six months ending February 28 to be "significantly higher" than the year prior. However, it warns it expects the second half year of this financial year to be challenging due to the continuance of the lockdowns, restrictions and the negative effect logistical difficulties are having on freight rates from the Far East.
