Byotrol Extends Solvay Deal, Signs Series Of New Contracts

Fri, 08th Jul 2016 07:10

LONDON (Alliance News) - Anti-microbial technology firm Byotrol PLC on Friday said it has entered an extended agreement with Belgian chemicals company Solvay and has agreed several other deals in 2016.

Byotrol said the agreement with Solvay, focused on developing and commercialising long-lasting biocidal products for hard surfaces, extends the commercial and technical relationship between the pair. Under the deal, Solvay's Novecare unit will make a "substantial" cash payment to Byotrol in 2016.

Beyond the Solvay deal, Byotrol said a series of other deals have been signed since it last updated on trading in February.

These include a five-year licensing agreement on hand sanitising products with Japanese pharmaceutical company KYORIN Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, targeting the medical care market and with a consumer market launch to follow.

Byotrol also agreed a five-year licence agreement over its surface care formulations with Beaphar, a pet care company, with products set to be launched imminently in Europe.

The company has also signed a short development contract on hand sanitisers with Rentokil Initial PLC, the UK-listed pest control and hygiene services firm, covering Rentokil's Ultraprotect range in Europe. Assuming test results prove successful, this will convert into a three-year licence agreement, Byotrol said.

Byotrol added its results for the year to the end of March 2016 are set to meet its expectations. It will publish those results on August 22.
