HOUSTON, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Gasoline retreated 1 cent agallon on Tuesday as BP Plc's 240,000 barrel-per-day(bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in Carson, California, restorednormal operations on units affected by a brief power outage overthe weekend, traders said.
February-delivery CARBOB gasoline traded at 29 cents agallon over March NYMEX RBOB gasoline in the Los Angeles spotmarket. February CARBOB also fell 1 cent in the San FranciscoBay market, but to 8 cents a gallon over March NYMEX RBOB.
Gasoline in the Portland, Oregon, market dipped 1 cent to a4-cent discount under March NYMEX RBOB.
February CARB diesel rose 2.5 cents to 11.5 cents a gallonover March NYMEX heating oil futures in L.A. February CARBdiesel in the San Francisco market was tied with the L.A.premium.
