March 4 (Reuters) - The 65,000 barrel per day (bpd)gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at BP Plc's 413,500 bpd Whiting, Indiana, refinery was operatingnormally on Wednesday after returning to production overnight,sources familiar with plant operations said.
The 65,000 bpd FCCU malfunctioned on Tuesday night, thesources said.
Energy industry intelligence service Genscape said higherthan normal flaring was seen on Wednesday morning from the aflare associated with the FCCU.
The 65,000 bpd FCCU is the smaller of two at the refinery.The 110,000 bpd FCCU remained in operation overnight, thesources said.
