HOUSTON, Dec 6 (Reuters) - BP Plc's 413,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana, refinery wasoperating normally on Tuesday after completing a multi-unitoverhaul over the weekend, said a source familiar with plantoperations.
During 11 weeks of work, the largest and second largestcrude distillation units and the largest gasoline-producing unitwere shut for refurbishing at the refinery 18 miles (29.5 km)south of Chicago.
The 90,000-bpd Pipestill 11C CDU, the second-largest crudeunit, was the last to restart and returned to full productionover the weekend, the source said.
The 240,000-bpd Pipestill 12 CDU, the largest of three atthe refinery, was shut on Sept. 20 and restarted on Oct. 9.Pipestill 11C was shut on Oct. 10.
The 110,000 bpd gasoline-producing Fluidic CatalyticCracking Unit 500 was shut a few days after Pipestill 12 wastaken out of production. FCCU 500 restarted on Nov. 25. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Jonathan Oatis)
