March 4 (Reuters) - The 65,000 barrel per day (bpd)gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit was operatingnormally on Wednesday at BP Plc's 413,500 bpd Whiting,Indiana, refinery after returning to production overnight, saidsources familiar with plant operations.
The 65,000 bpd FCCU malfunctioned on Tuesday night, but wasreturned to normal operation, the sources said. Energy industryintelligence service Genscape said higher than normal flaringwas seen on Wednesday morning from the a flare associated withthe FCCU.
The 65,000 bpd FCCU is the smaller of two at the refinery.The 110,000 bpd FCCU remained in operation overnight, thesources said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
