Baillie Gifford Japan Trust PLC - investment firm - Recommends dividend of 6.00 pence per share for year to August 31, up a third from 4.50p a year earlier. Net asset value per share rises 20% to 1,012.8p from 840.8p. "This year has been characterised by a continuing strong recovery in share prices with normal concerns such as earnings trends being swept aside. By the end of the last financial year our benchmark (the TOPIX total return in sterling terms) had recovered most of its lost ground," company says.
