EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Anglesey Mining chair ousted, Strix CFO to retire

Fri, 27th Oct 2023 21:11

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and Friday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Anglesey Mining PLC - has base metals operations in North Wales, Sweden and Canada - Says at annual general meeting held on Friday, the resolution to reappoint Chair John Kearney as a director was rejected. Resolution received 93.5 million votes in favour and 103.1 million votes against, with 256,302 votes withheld. Kearney therefore has ceased to be a director of Anglesey with immediate effect. Company says Non-Executive Director Andrew King is promoted to interim chair, and it will commence a formal process to appoint a permanent replacement. Furthermore, Anglesey Mining on Thursday reports that the drilling rig for the Northern Copper Zone infill programme is mobilised and has arrived at the Parys Mountain project. Company expects drilling to start on Friday.

----------

Valereum PLC - Gibraltar-based firm linking mainstream currency products denominated in US dollars and pound sterling into cryptocurrencies - Re-hires Patrick Lyle Young as chief executive officer, effective immediately, "as the company restructures and discerns a path forward." Young formerly served as an executive director from July 2021 to early October. Valereum also hires Peter Sekhon as an executive director with immediate effect. Sekhon is currently a lead business analyst at Lloyds Banking Group PLC, and has experience in "risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and compliance across a range of financial and business initiatives."

----------

Strix Group PLC - Isle of Man-based provider of kettle safety controls - Chief Financial Officer Raudres Wong has announced her retirement, effective immediately. Wong has worked at Strix for over 12 years. Non-Executive Director Mark Kirkland is promoted to interim CFO until a permanent successor is appointed; the search process is currently underway. Kirkland is currently a director of Kelso Grouo Holdings PLC and AEW UK REIT PLC, and "has been CFO of numerous public companies". Chair Gary Lamb says Wong's "leadership has supported us through the global challenges of Covid and the transition from a private to a global public company."
