The barricade is part of a campaign by the indigenous Innu to have ancestral rights in the northeast of Quebec recognized by the government. Anglesey owns a 41% stake in Labrador Mines. At 1430 GMT, shares -1.8 pence, or 6.4%, at 25.5 pence. PORTRAIT SOFTWARE PLC (PST.LN) said it agreed to be acquired by U.S. mail processing firm Pitney Bowes Inc. (PBI) for GBP44.4 million in cash. The deal will add to Pitney Bowes's range of products and technology for managing customer relationships, the two companies said. The offer, pitched at 31 pence a share, represents a 70% premium to Portrait Software's average share price over the past 12 months. At 1430 GMT, shares +7 pence, or 30%, at 30 pence. JUBILEE PLATINUM PLC (JLP.LN), a platinum producer, said it raised GBP8 million in a share sale to fund the development of its ConRoast smelting technology and complete a feasibility study on its Tjate project in South Africa. WINCANTON PLC (WIN.LN), a haulier, reported an 85% drop in fiscal year profit, hurt by a dip in revenue and a restructuring of its loss-making German operations, but said it is poised for growth due to a pickup in the volume of goods companies are transporting, and contributions from newer sectors like defense. Wincanton said it expects to report a net exceptional profit in fiscal 2011 due to two asset disposals it is considering. At 1430 GMT, shares flat at 225 pence. HALFORDS GROUP PLC (HFD.LN), a U.K. automotive and leisure products retailer, said it expects earnings to grow about 15% each year in the medium term by expanding its existing retail business and acquisitions. SILVERDELL PLC (SID.LN), an asbestos removal company, reported a swing to profit its fiscal first half, reflecting a year-earlier impairment charge and a tighter grip on costs, and said it hopes to get more business as the U.K. government may favor refurbishing old buildings than splashing out on new ones. (NCCL.LN), a Mozambique-focused coal explorer, joined London's Alternative Investment Market, raising GBP35.6 million to spend on exploration work and a bankable feasibility study of its assets. HARGREAVES SERVICES PLC (HSP.LN), a coal producer and haulage company, and UK COAL PLC (UKC.LN), a coal miner, called off merger talks. (BCAP.LN), an investment company, said it plans to raise up to GBP67.6 million through a share placing and move from London's junior Alternative Investment Market to the main market. Better Capital, which was founded by Alchemy Partners founder Jon Moulton, said the funds will be invested directly in the Better Capital fund, saying there are a "significant number" of opportunities to invest in businesses that need reviving due to the effects of the recession, fragile economic conditions and escalating levels of corporate debt.
