Director dealings: Bell buys first stake at Greatland Gold

Fri, 01st Apr 2016 10:28

(ShareCast News) - Greatland Gold's non-executive chairman Andrew Bell bought a 2.39% stake in the Tasmanian exploration tiddler days after the company stated its much improved confidence new strategy.Bell snapped up 23.7m Greatland shares at a bargain basement price of 0.132p per share. While this was his first Greatland share purchase, Regency Mines, where Bell is chairman and CEO, also holds 1.5m shares. At the half-year results statement last week, Greatland said that with its new strategy in place, it "believes that its focus on high priority operations will allow it to maximise shareholder value over the short to medium term."The new strategy review included re-starting operations at its Warrentina project in Tasmania as it felt it now presented an "advanced opportunity", having in January announced that gold mineralisation had been intersected at the project adding to the overall prospectivity of the area.Elsewhere, certain less prospective sites have been disposed of, with focus retained on its properties that have indicated more potential, with several nickel, gold and copper prospects around Tasmania.
