LONDON (Alliance News) - Amiad Water Systems Ltd on Tuesday said it provided its water filtration solutions for the Tuas desalination plant in Singapore.
At the end of June, the country's third desalination plant Tuas was launched. Amiad was appointed to supply ultra-filtration and reverse osmosis membrane protection solutions for the project.
The water filtration systems provider said the plant is owned and operated by Singapore's National Water Agency. It can produce 136,000 cubic meters of water per day through the treatment of seawater.
Amiad said Tuas is the first desalination plant in Singapore to use advanced pre-treatment technology, a combination of dissolved air-floatation and ultra-filtration.
The company said it provided a total of 224 filters for the plant, which treat 13,900 cubic meters of water per hour for ultra-filtration membrane protection and 12,800 cubic metres per hour for reverse osmosis membrane protection.
"We are delighted to have been a part of this project to provide Singapore with its third desalination plant," said Chief Executive Dori Ivzori.
"It is vital that we, as a society, use all of the means at our disposal to meet the increasing demand for fresh water," added Ivzori.
Shares in Amiad were trading 2.6% higher on Tuesday at 274.00 pence each.
