Naked Trader seminar

Wednesday, 25th March 2009 18:16 - by Resident IFA

lse.co.uk visits Robbie (aka The Naked Trader) on Friday! Well, two of us are, so it’s not quite en masse! The Naked Trader is undoubtedly a cult legend in Share investing terms. How many smaller investors who fancied themselves as Traders have started after reading the eponymous book (first published in 2005) of Robbie’s experiences as The Naked Trader? He has been trading for over 10 years now and must have been pretty successful as he is still trading-away, not having had to seek ‘proper’ employment! The seminar is not cheap, but I imagine it will certainly be worth the money as the day apparently always runs past 5pm, there being so much to cover and so many questions inevitably asked of Robbie. The seminar is held at a Hotel in Heathrow and we are certainly looking forward to the chocolate and Starbucks on offer...seemingly a signature of Naked Trader seminars. I will have to pretend it is Christmas Day and excuse myself enough to eat my body-weight in the sugary stuff! A hotel room is booked so we can share a few beers with Robbie and our fellow students afterwards. I think one of the key ‘pluses’ of lse.co.uk is the very fact that we are not former Brokers, Traders, City Boys...just normal folk who dabble in the odd Share. To this end, we probably form the ‘standard’ profile for an attendee at a Naked Trader seminar. If anything, we may have less knowledge than the majority of the people in the room. We have always run and improved lse.co.uk in the manner of the aforementioned ‘normal folk’, basing our approach solely on the user experience and keeping things as clean and simple as possible. Hopefully, this continues to be evident to all our Members and visitors, with many improvements in the pipeline...but usually not enough hours in the day to make the progress we would like. By all means, please make yourself known to us if you attend Friday’s NT seminar and have read this Blog. The least we can do is ‘shout’ you a drink! Be prepared, though, to give us some candid feedback on the site. We listen long and hard to what you have to say, what you want to see on the site, and your experiences of using lse.co.uk...good, bad or indifferent. Until next time...
