Fundamentally, there are so many similarities between the Buffett’s and Lynch’s approaches.

My strategy encompasses the things which they had in common: contrarianism, value, competitive advantage, simple businesses, strong balance sheets, manageable borrowings, emotional control, strong returns on capital employed, sufficient diversification (this takes many forms; not simply buying stocks for the sake of it) and staying within one’s circle of competence.

With the above rules in place, I think it’s impossible to perform poorly in the long-term.

I think it’s prudent to focus on the similarities between the best investors, and completely ignore the differences.

My gut feeling yesterday was reliable it seems, although it might have been evident in the charts, and I just did not spot it.

Anyway, we are still very much in the same range and channel as we were before IMO, so like others, I too might repurchase a few in the days ahead, depending on how things look then.

Another aggressive pullback today, got double the amount back in low 330's. I would say either a short is closing or there is a buyer..

says to me that any decent size is going to cost round 345 currently.

I am a big fan of his as well. Learn to Earn is a book that is IMO essential reading for anyone who enjoys this stuff.

But I think that WB, while full of praise for PL generally, felt that he traded too much, and managed a p/f of too many stocks :)

Anyway, this in itself kind of underpins the notion of what we mere mortals here all likely agree on - that we all need to find a strategy that works for us best, as individuals.

Because we either make money, or we lose money. Everything else is noise. GLA.
