No surprise with a further significant loss in H1 of over £13 million.

Obvious market challenges’ that affect all in the sector, but I wonder if there are deeper challenges for this group as they seem to divide opinion within the customer base.

The trade counters are the biggest bone of contention with the independent retailer’s & although this is seen as an important strategic growth area for the group it may also be their biggest weakness.

Headlams latest announcement that they are re branding to mercardo and loosing 30 plus brands and now account holders will only have one account , one price list, one rep the latest cut back to show investors a better bottom line profit . if we see another poor profit report then see a polar different report from the likes of likewise i see there share falling to 120 imv

As far as listed companies just Victoria and Likewise. The latter certainly worth a look for some of the answers.

Interesting. Have you seen some data on the market share losses? The only public comp I've seen is Victoria plc, and their revenues look like they're down a lot more (although up a lot more in the previous years)

In the past they were always profitable. Even in 2008/2009. Now they're making big losses.

Their markets will turn at some point, but something has clearly changed and I don't think management have undertaken the necessary belt tightening.
