RE: Undervalued!4 Oct 2024 10:07
Hi. I'm another investor who's unimpressed by all the trusts winding down (or is it winding up?). To be honest, I didn't vote on the AERS wind down, as I was ambivalent. IF it manages to sell its assets near NAV and IF by that time other green funds are still selling at a discount, I could end up effectively swapping an investment near NAV for an investment at a discount, which would be a gain. However, by the time you take into account the risks and the extra costs of winding down, I'm not sure it's worth it.
Yesterday one of my larger positions, RESI, a REIT not a green fund, announced out of the blue that they were going to hold a vote on winding down. Judging by the jump in share price, I think there are a lot of people hoping to make a quick buck. But that was one of my favourite investments for long term income, and I'll probably vote against. At least with AERS there are plenty of other green funds to switch to. There isn't a good alternative to RESI, as far as I'm concerned. Sorry for going off topic; I just had to get that off my chest!
