You did well but as we know its luck of the draw, the only real winner in the end is the HMRC !
With a firm offer of 605, 597 looks cheap. A guaranteed 8p profit. Any thoughts anyone?
If there's a higher offer then what's it likely to be? 630? Probably not more than 650. I've sold at 618.3892 on the basis that a higher bid of around 640 is less than a 35pc possibility. 640-605=35. My premium is >13 over 605.

I thought i try and find a way to compare against similar couriers, but WINCANTON from what I’m aware ( I work for IKEA Kitchens ), is they only service LONDON.
I was looking at DX couriers but they were acquired by HIC last yr whom service MIDLANDS.
DHL trades at p/e of 11, but there massive at €48bn .
I have held a messily 1000 WIN since 2007, along with ARRIVA I bought too same time whom were bought by Germans I remember.
Wished I had put my mammoth £28k holding in here rather than VODA in in 2097.

What is the highest value we can hope for?

Sit on your hands and watch the others come out of the woodwork !
CMA offer at 480, yet SP hovered above 500 - a good indicator market expected a higher offer, now arrived
GXO offer at 605, yet SP hovers at 615 - that's enough for me to continue to hold in hope of a higher bid yet.
Who knows, can go either way. If you sold out already and made a decent profit - good for you.
This is sitting above the offer price. by holding you are guaranteed to lose money if the sale goes through. why would you hold for a few pence when the chances are you are already way up.
each to their own but how likely is a significant rise from here?

I suspect the CMA will want to review GXO's market share

Held, not "need"
Very glad I need on to these. Is now the time to cash-out, or might there be further upside - i.e a bidding war??
This share is just getting better and better I am pleased to say it long last. As I said before start buying in 2004 till 2021 still hold all of them . All we need know that they accept the offer from gxo.

Boom..!
I'm glad to say somebody else is thinking of these as it is pushing the price up I started buying these in 2004 when I started working for them never sold any. Every four I brought they gave me one free stop buying 2021 when the contract they lost went to GXO . I hope to come out with good profit worth waiting for .

When will this be settled ?
Buy 10 shares to make £1 x Guess if you purchased enough "might be worth it
Investors will receive 450p a share, a 52% premium to Thursday's close. However, this equates to an EBITDA multiple of 6.8 times, implying Ceva isn't exactly overpaying. Will we get a higher bid???? Around 10p off the offer price at the moment is it worth a top up??

Held these for a couple of years. Thought they were a good bet. Watched the SP fluctuate and dip to 188 last year. Happy to cash out with a decent profit, albeit 11p shy of the offer price. I can't see a higher offer coming in.
Does anyone know what the guarantee price will be

Share your sentiments, market valuations are still heavily discounted compared to North American peers. UK market participants and particularly institutions are failing to curb foreign buyer demand of our most valuable companies.
I was first in during the pandemic, it was a great rise following but overdone, I then added more recently when we slipped back between £2-3. The biggest news - the clearing of the pension deficit liabilities would have added significantly to the bottom line and I don't believe it was truly reflected in the price as yet. On that basis we may have gotten a higher price if we'd allowed the re-rate on result but as you say the future is logistics is not without risk and significant investment (both automation and environment) so happy to move on given there are so many more 'opportunities' to move on to. Happy overall.
I initially though 'brilliant' and then looked at the price history. It was 454p on the 21st May 2021 and I though things had been going better since then. So CEVA are probably well happy to pay this price - and I am thinking it's not so brilliant - but then again as with banks and telecoms this gov or a regulator might step in any minute and say all lorries need to be run on hydrogen by next year and customers/public need to be compensated for the last 15 years for pollution.
There are reasons to celebrate but yet another UK logistics company is about to be taken out relatively cheaply. Now we know why the promised share buyback did not commence as it would have made the takeover that management were discussing look less attractive as the share price following the buyback would have been higher due to the low liquidity. After clawing back the pension fund deficit last year I feel management could have held out for a higher offer as Wincanton is now a much more desirable proposition.
I didn't notice Wincanton at the top of my portfolio view this morning. Had to do a double take. Then boom. Love days like this! Good offer. 3% to be gained by holding out or take the profits. Money in the bank... Newmark Security next, then I can retire....
Plenty of buys at 438.5p - for ~3%
So what price per share are they going to pay

Free cash will rocket now compared to previous projections. Should be over 300p on this news but will will be ahead as cash drives stocks and this is a very material upgrade. Well done.
Indeed a massive boost! The whole UK market with DB liabilities will surely be announcing similar positions in the coming months. The whole market could take off. I hope Wincanton is reviewing it's options around bulk DB transfer so we can get the liabilities risk gone for good.
Game changer.
Will materially re/rate ahead now
