RNS out confirming talks with Santos, implies early stage with no conclusion at this time. Bargain time for WDS, added. GLA
The uncertainty caused by recent merger talks with Santos might account for the recent SP weakness

You may have timed the bottom just right, lots of positive news to come over the next few months
Very nice update another 20year contract , WDS set to be a Global leader in LNG
I wish AJ Bell had stopped me buying some more yesterday. Anyway comfortable I have topped up at a good price and in for the long term.
Once the oil flows on the Senegal prospect, this will start to re-rate, its a huge asset, which s going to throw of heaps of cash in 2024
Thanks.
Their refusal to let you buy has done you a favour- the SP is even lower now! As we all know it’s almost impossible to buy at the very bottom but I feel confident that these will look like bargain prices in a few months and we can enjoy a nice yield while we’re waiting.
You have done well. AJBELL wont allow any buys, i believe Hargreaves are down too,
Hard to believe this can drop much lower so I’ve topped up today. Fingers crossed this is the bottom!
Has been granted for the Scarborough seismic to proceed and the 10 well drilling, thought they might have put out an RNSfor this??
Chart shows a secular downtrend , of lower peaks and troughs. However, there is a positive divergence in the RSI(relative strength index), in the weekly and daily time frames. This divergence, would indicate that momentum to the downside is decreasing substantially, and a rally is feasible. Also adding to the optimism, is the 3 weekly Japanese doji, candlesticks recently . At a price bottom area, the doji, often indicates the smart money, is taking a position in the equity . Price target is the highest high of the 3 weekly doji, candlesticks, at 1725. Stop price should be under 1599.
Has the Brent price , triggered a move??? or is it the Gas??, Hmm
Oh and Henry Hub GAS up 1.3% forgot to add!!!
Brent Oil Price UP!!!!!, will cuts remain in place???? the markets will be all eyes on this meeting
I suppose at this level its a near 15% dividend return, and then there is possible upside in the Sp so still plenty of Upside, Imo When is first oil due from Senegal? That could help push the Sp off the bottom.
MY average paid is £19.68 so it is hard seeing it down here. I shall hang on though, believing in redemption.
Been watching for a while, only became interested through my JSE interest, which brought WDS to my attention,
happy with my 1620p entry and looking forward to next years dividends, i like the assets it has, and in particular the Mexico asset , which it is developing., i think the Scarborough set back has been the issue with the recent decline, but im sure they will put it right in 2024/5
This board is generally quiet, but I have been adding on the way down, but didn't expect it to drop to this low. may need to sit tight for a few months, until the final results end of FEB 24. Dividend in March.
While it sits at yearly lows, great dividend return too,
sold some SOLG at small profit moved into here for next years dividend, i do prefer oil and gas
Reader61;
The 80 is a progressive dividend as higher than it's predecessor. The 109 you refer to included a one off BHP merger/acquisition payment.
Progressive dividend gone backwards, 80cent vs 109 cent?
An interesting article by Ian Cowie in the Sunday Times highlighting his holding in Woodside, which as well as having a huge oil and natural gas field off the northern coast of Western Australia is now developing a $A5 billion liquid hydrogen and ammonia facility south of Perth in WA. The company has a progressive dividend policy and aims to return 50% of net profits as dividends. It more than doubled it’s dividend last year but still yields over 12%!. There can’t be many company dividends that beat even Uk RPI. Thanks for the heads up Ian.
As above!!!
Good to see Trion moving ahead, and it is a boost to the future of WDS. I wish they would cut the junk about greenhouse emissions though.
One day. but this share pays a good dividend so I too love this share.
