Curious if anyone can tell me last time VOD went up 3.6% in a single day. Even on takeovers rumours it only manages 2% at best.
Guess that is preferably to a cliff face.
this isnt short selling why this is going down, its to do with the **** ceo and board running this company
Garonne,
I cannot wait for you to sell so you stop loosing money. God forbid this drops into the 40's. You would be well down!
Your RR. is up again. Why on earth did you not sell VOD and buy RR. when you first posted about it.
It would have saved us reading so many of your posts!
Purely on the basis TA, I'd say 65.4ish is a possible support (price is likely to test that) and if that doesn't hold then the 63.5 or below that I've previously mentioned looks very likely.

''It's just wall to wall negatives here.''
A couple of months time may give a positive, with news of buybacks.
Have you bothered to email her and IR?

Amidst the current absence of updates, the sp might be approaching the lower 50s threshold
Earth calling MDV.... please calm the market down
Here come the Yanks to put the boot in a bit further.
Its funny how much bs is appearing on this board as soon as the sp dips on super low volumes.
Why on earth would anybody bother to post garbage here day in day out? Get a life and a job!
No wonder the likes of $hitcoin are surging - the last idiot isn't born yet.
"Someone started the rumour. If this individual or organisation had no real basis for it, it is a scam to increase the share price. It doesn't mean betaville or others were involved, they are just gullible participants. But if there was no plan for takeover as we now realise, then the rumour was a scam to ramp the price up. We have to accept we were duped and try harder next time."
As with all rumours of this nature, there may have been some truth to it i.e. someone could consider a bid and then take it no further. I doubt it, but it's possible.
If someone invested on the basis of the rumour with the caveat being given that by the source that it might be a load of rubbish, then noone has been duped. It's not a case of trying harder, as that isn't really trying at all.
Looks like it's back to business as usual with the SP firmly back in the 60s where it clearly belongs. How much longer does this atrocious performance have to go on for before MDV considers her position? She doesn't even buy any shares to boost confidence in the company she's meant to be rescuing! It's just wall to wall negatives here. It's never pleasant losing money but I fear selling up at a significant loss might be the only option. Dreadful company!

"the rumour hasn't been tested through formal journalistic channels (public relations executives, bankers etc). The scuttlebutt might be complete codswallop - but then again there may be something in it, so it's worth airing on Betaville"
Given that the rumour was caveated as above, it's hardly a scam. The rumour itself didn't make sense, as any rival can just buy the bits of Vodafone it wants and avoid become another Vodafone themselves.
All stocks in FTSE are dog and controlled by shorter. The results don't matter. They go up 5% for no reason and you start buying it suddenly drop by 10%. Then it rasise slowly and the shorter have taken the biscuits now the next round.
MDV is not working out for ordinary shareholder but that doesn't mean she's not working out for others.
She maintained highest dividend in FTSE while selling two European core assets. Who benefits? E& is a major shareholder with little interest in European assets.
Disentangling this will take best part of decade and cost billion in fees. Again who benefits? The usual parasites like Accenture.
On the other side of the world, strategy appears to be to move all valuable assets into Vodacom. Is this strategy for Vodafone or for E&?
CEO in name only, doing the same thing she has been since 2004 - following orders.
10mln shares print? Anyone else noticed it?
Eafster, dont buy any vodafone shares then.
Scam, manipulation, call it whatever you like. If a real bid was in the offing, we would be the last to know. As per your advice I dropped some more earlier this morning at 70. Happy to sit tight now.
The 'new' CEO has been in place for over 12 months and has achieved nothing when compared to the job done at Rolls Royce.
How long before a radical change is needed?
Vodafone is the dog of the FTSE.
A rumor is just that, a rumor. That does not make it a scam as you put it.
If you believe the rumor was necessary going to come true, more fool you.
As you predict 65p for the next stop, you can still sell now at 69p which is higher than your prediction. But dont wait too long.
Now that the “takeover” bid has been shown to be a scam to let the big players escape at 71p, we will drift back to 65. I sold some at a decent price, but should have done much more.
"What would someone pay for it - its not exactly profitable as things are."
Jesteh if you check the 2023 Revenue and adjusted EBITDAal figures for Italy and Germany, then a €10 Billion sale price for Germany makes no sense; In FY23 the Revenue in Germany was over 270% higher than Italy, and adjusted EBITDAal over 366% higher than Italy. If you base a sale price for Germany against relative EBITDAal percentage differences between the two, and since Italy is worth €8 Billion, then Germany would have to be worth at least €29 Billion.
I thought yesterday sell at 71p but there seemed some momentum at last so held. Doh!
But ‘surely’ this should kick back with a 70 support soon? Buy problem is now with so many pullbacks it means that 71p resistance gets tougher all the time!
Usual caveats
