Well the Vod dividend fan club will be glad to hear that this will probably be my last post here as the freezing Siberian weather and remote location is rendering my mobile phone useless, or is it that I'm out of range on my Vod sim package......@#££&*+×÷=
Moniman……at least your balls wont freeze off as you obviously don’t have any.
Robleo………..hang on in there. I made the mistake of selling my big initial stakes in CNA back in 2020 for 43p making a loss of £180k . My average was around 140p Needles to say today it hit 93p. I decided that my money was better off in the travel sector that was starting to bounce back after the first vaccine was found. I have had to work hard by shifting stocks to recover my losses but as it happens I would have been far better off just staying put.
I think VOD is cheap and well over sold and hopefully soon we will start to see a nice recovery.
Vod was the classic dividend trap I'm afraid...having said that @60p it might be worth a punt providing the 9p dividend is maintained..how they'll ever manage to pay the €45 debt down is unfathomable..maybe a bric a brac sale...Just landed in Siberia thank to Dan...it's bl@@dy freezing....brrrrrr..:-((.
Hi soton, i get what you're saying that is my dilemma, I'm showing a nice profit with aviva and lgen and most of my other shares that have dropped into the red are starting to recover, it's a case of your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't, but I'm thinking see where vod is after exdiv and try and make a decision then, but you know what they say it's only a loss when you sell and to sell at this current price would be a big loss for me, 6 years of being invested here though has not got me anywhere so far, a bit like Lloyds
cheers mate
Hi Rob.....One thing for sure is that this stock never fails to disappoint....Not as bad as you only down 24.6%...Have been thinking of getting out recently wish i had sold up during Trusses debacle and invested in Aviva think i would have recouped my losses by now....will hold on till the new year see how things stand then make the decision whether to sell all or part of my holding....
Hi all, lots of moaning and moaning about moaning, but i don't blame anyone it sure has been a big disappointment, i had a couple of moans myself, but think i got away with it :-) but it is what it is so no point moaning all the time
big question for me is whether to add here and try and lower my average, I'm currently showing as 43.30 % in loss on my capital or say f*ck it and put the money elsewhere, if adding here I'm thinking maybe waiting until after exdiv
what are your thoughts guys is this good value at these prices and worth an average down
either way not going to sell up at these prices
cheers and gla
Just before I get on the plane to Siberia that Dan kindly booked me on, all I can say is I'm glad I didn't get talked into this one by you guys and the brokers..............do svidaniya..:-))
"Moniman……..you seem to like the sound of your own voice. No one really cares about your thoughts."
He's just talking his own book, he's a vested interest like the rest of us on here. The easiest way to find a bare minimum valuation of a non-distressed company, is to subtract the total liabilities from the total asset value and add an 18% to 28% percent premium on top of the bare minimum valuation. Since Vodafone isn't in distress and currently undervalued, it'd be unlikely the management would agree a takeover based solely on the market cap plus a premium. Should a hostile bidder appear, the share price would significantly increase from the current level anyway, since the market would rerate the stock to a more sensible level.
Same rant from Moniman day in and day out. Getting quite tedious.
We had someone similar on the EZJ board. Just had some issues.
I was just replying to Dan, I'm off to Siberia now as Dan has said I'm not allowed an opinion, I assume that you are in the same camp? Good luck with your dividend and remember to watch for those broker upgrades to 300p....:_))

Moniman……..you seem to like the sound of your own voice. No one really cares about your thoughts. Why do you keep ranting on if you have no interest in the company. Please trot along and give the folk still interested in investing in VOD a break.
Falling knife comes to mind here, 235p in Nov 2017 and a near one way journey all the way down to 95p............anyone hazzard a guess when the knife will actually stick in the ground? I'm glad I don't owe the banks and bond holders 45 billion euros, but there always the dividend I suppose. AIMHO ADYOR!

How do you like that vinegar on your chips Dan?...Now I'm off to get my flight to Siberia where Dan has sent me for having an opinion!
I may decide to buy if I see the right opportunity..maybe you should take the brokers advice as they reckon it'll be 215p, mind you that was 230p before, and 250p before that and 300p before that...they're real experts at calling this one! GL with holding this one and enjoy your dividend next week...!

Moniman……no one gives a feck if you would touch it or not, and indeed if you are not interested in buying what are you even doing here? Get back to school the teacher is looking for you.
The only way I see real value would be gained here is maybe to break the company up and distribute whatever funds are left...but that won't happen so long as the BOD are on the handsome gold plated payroll! I will now go to Russia on Dan's recommendation...:-))
I wouldn't touch this until they at least half the debt pile from the eye-watering €45billion....Selling assets and renting them back is just more borrowing from Peter to pay Paul...just like the dividends that have also added to the decline from 235p to 95p in five years...lots of smoke and mirrors but it's been interesting following this one from all those calling this 250p including those "So called" brokers....Just my humble opinion!

Hi Danielh was thinking of my first house but the mortgage was more then 35k it was more then 65k, when the rate’s went up you just cut back on things or work more hours (overtime or 2nd job) not complain it and expect the government to bail you out Sorry I will wind my neck back in
Moniman……….seeing you are such a smart fud what price do you think folk should be buying this at to make a profit? And I am talking serious money not just your paper round money.
Dan..I have never said "told you so"...but I'm obviously not allowed to share my opinions about how badly this company has been managed..I will move to Russia as they obviously have more freedom to speak over there my comrade! ...:-))
monoman. We all know vod has been a disaster over the last few years. I have even given you credit in the past for some of your comments & predictions. But now you are getting very boring with your (I told you so repetition), so do us all a favour & go away.
There's no arrogance from me...it's those brokers constantly telling people to buy this when it was at 230p and continued to recommended people to but this all the way down to 95p you should focus on! Just check the facts here....

Oh well. Even more expense, moving more shares into an I.S.A. At least we have until April. I can remember when you paid no divi tax on non i.s.a. shares, & you could even claim money from the tax man on your divi if you transfer'd the shares to your wife as a non tax payer. Those were the days.
moniman. That is because I didn't. You have an amazing habit of totally changing the subject. We all know how clever you are, so you don't have to keep reminding us. It's a shame though you show no humility, just arrogance. Try using Aimao in future. a for arrogant.
Dan, take those Rose tinted spectacles off and look at the 5 year chart...it's frighteningly bad 235p Nov 2017....95p Nov 2022..the chart doesn't lie! Buyers have run for the hills, it's as obvious as the nose on your face is it not?
