Are there two GutterSnipes on here, or is he just joking? GutterSnipe 1, last Friday posted, "An express elevator to hell, it's going down, it's game over man, GAME OVER" GutterSnipe 2, Today posts, "This thing is about to go ballistic. Fill your boots now lol." Let's hope G.S.2 is right.

That is a pretty big closing auction at 88.77p - must be an Institutional Fund Manager
lots of chunky buys - £139.04k. Time for a huge rocket this afternoon
Still edging up, hopefully be back to 90 soon.
This thing is about to go ballistic. Fill your boots now lol. Pair of green candles also. Blow now.
Good decision Pan.
Divi is good, top 3 in FTSE maybe but would have to check ?
Thanks both. I think it's worth a punt for a small amount. Helps me to diversify my portfolio too as I've been too heavily invested in one sector. So I've been using some of my dividends to spread my risk around. Anyway, I've just bought 5771 shares. If it goes lower in the next few months I can always add to it. Long term I'm sure this will bounce back well.
I think the SP well be higher than current price come May
Pantherax
Dividend yield is good. Will they keep or increase? The next possible Vodafone dividend will be declared on 16-May-2023.
I dipped in at around 84p. No daft spread ... I may add.
"Does anyone know how much more they have left to buy?"
They have so far bought back 1,208,829,198 shares; which means they still have to buyback 309,800,495 shares to fully neutralise the MCB effects. At a rate of 6,074,521 shares per session ; 51 of buyback sessions are still to be carried out.

First ski slope of 2023 :)
This share is looking cheap to me so I'm thinking of buying in using some profits from elsewhere. Just wondering how others are currently feeling about this share. And the dividend yield looks quite high after the recent drop in the share price - are we expecting the dividend to be cut?
I'm not asking for advice - just interested in peoples views. I'm thinking of putting just over £5k in.
As above, for what it's worth.
Should see some support on the cessation of the buy backs.
Does anyone know how much more they have left to buy?
I remember the buyback is due to end March 23 and not exceed a certain amount of shares, whichever comes first
If the buying continues and dividend being expected, the price may rise until dividend is paid
This Friday…hmmmm
Short time scales but maybe a little retrace 84.5p
May need a couple more weeks b4 wee see some profit taking.
Dividend gets paid 3rd Feb ;)
Thanks giantsquid. Positive thinking!
Let me be clear on one point: I can't predict the short-term movements of the stock market. I haven't the faintest idea as to whether stocks will be higher or lower a month or a year from now. What is likely, however, is that the market will move higher, perhaps substantially so, well before either sentiment or the economy turns up. "As we ring in the New Year, I would suggest we instead brace for a pleasant surprise. I can’t promise another “Summer of Love” for 2023 when it comes to sex, drugs or rock ‘n’ roll. But I do believe the New Year will deliver a surprisingly strong stock market globally"

A new bull market is likely to start in 2023 - "inflation in the US peaked in June and has gone down five months in a row. Inflation is very unlikely to go back to the Fed's target of 2%, but the Fed is equally unlikely to continue with out-sized hikes in 2023 as inflation drops. If the FFR stays below 6%, I think the economy should hold and no recession materialize in 2023"

"A bull market will come sooner or later. The present market decline could offer a big opportunity for patient investors"

Here’s when the next bull market is expected to begin, according to the experts surveyed:
7 percent said: “A new bull market has already begun.”
21 percent said: “A new bull market may begin before July of next year (or around the next six months).”
About 36 percent said: “A new bull market may begin in the second half of next year (2023).”
21 percent said: “It may be 2024 before a new bull market begins.”
14 percent said: “It may be sometime after 2024 when a new bull market begins.”
That distribution spreads pretty wide over the next 18 months or so, but a total of 57 percent said a bull market would begin again in 2023, whether in the first half or second half of the year

Coppleson: why the new bull market could start as soon as March 2023 -
The data suggests March 2023 could be a turning point for markets.

Btw, just for Daniel, 83 is my number.
I am predicting a lower number.
Lower:
lesser
cheaper
reduced
lessened
curtailed
cut
slashed
decreased
Hope that clarifies it, Daniel?
Hi Daniel,
What’s your point?
We are simply guessing a number here. It’s not too difficult is it?
My guess was simply 83p

Iggypop. I just wondered why Caritt predicted 83 for Friday when the sp was 85.9 if he thought the sp would go up? As for vod buying there own shares, that is purely because of the mandatory bond issue as you are all surely aware of by now. Anyway, last 2 days have been good so lets hope that continues. Funny how some on here take offence on others behalf. I don't think Carlett took offence, & none was meant. ATB. Carlett.
