I'm no Issac Newton but in my basic understanding of physics you do tend to travel south when falling over ;-)
It’s about the direction of travel
South
Have you fallen over and banged your head Jax, then got up but fallen over and banged your head again, as think this higher than your last predictions.....?!
I had both yourself and GS down for VOD insolvency and an IOU in the till for next week's prophecy due to all the doom-mongering rhetoric so fair play :-)

74p for me please Bob
What can I say?...As I have said before I just wish I had shown the same level of perception of Vodafone's share price direction before I bought into it? :-)
There is a death spiral on the horizon
MDV will terminate Vod
The definition of a dead cert is a gambler who cant see you can lose. Or death & tax. Up today, only just, But I reacon breaking 80 is more likely than falling below 70. But I could be wrong? But I don't to want to have an argument obout it!?
'dead cert'
I guess the opportunity is the €150Bn+ assets that can be sold to realise cash, pay down debt etc.
Think Mesh mentioned just 1 broadband country sale can realise €8Bn and Vod has at least 5 or 6 countries like that. Spain might be proof of concept. Of course they cant sell all the family silver but they have so many options and flexibility and time to ride out higher interest rates.
As you say, lower interest rates will make cashflows more attractive and i imagine will have PE salivating. MDV might not be interested by then. e& obviously interested and might take the emerging markets business/ Africa (ex broadband).
Accolade this week goes to "Exil " well done

Define 'dead cert' please. It will be a first for the stock market if you have found one.
The bull thesis with VOD always seems to be, it's gone down so much it has to go up. You need to bang the spreadhseet to work out how it is going to grow real FCF substantially so you can discount the value back to see what big money is prepared to pay for it.
It is no dead cert that it can. If it can't, then you have to wait for interest rates to fall so the discount rate can be lowered.
So I have been buying more of ITV and VOD at these prices, dead cert sooner or later.
42% down in a year - wow
This is covid before the vaccine on steroids
To catch some more fish
Look we all know that VOD are currently in the dulldrums with the SP , but just like many other large companies RR. M&S, Sainsbury's etc who have also seen a period of low SP 's have now turned / started to turn their businesses around including the SP .
VOD are doing the same and it will take a few months, soon Vodafone will receive further proceeds of €500 million, taking total net proceeds to €5.4 billion and the Consortium's ownership in Oak Holdings GmbH ("Oak Holdings") to 40%..
There's Middle eastern countries looking to buy more % also in the next few months, so there is everything to look forward to so just sit tight.
Seems to be support at 70. August options expiry also so maybe the bottom is in?
Fundamentals depend on H1 confirmation. No reason to think revenues and earnings are going to disappoint with indexed plans in play and JPM reporting on Spain options at the moment to underpin the FCF/ outlook.
Crikey over 150Bn assets to play with and 11% dividend
Think we just need interest rates to pause or even pull back and VOD will tick up to 80p
Anyways, who cares as long as MDV keeps the FCF/ div going in November with E& supporting/ hoovering up these low prices
I love this board
Why don't you veck off.
Very, very boring.
There certainly has been recently Mulder, I've increased today.
Too early to bet the farm though I suspect, the market sell off isn't done yet so Vod would need to buck the trend..?!
.
A good post mesh. It's always difficult to see riches ahead when the SP is languishing at multi year lows but let's all hope (and even pray) that things can only get better from here. The sunny uplands are there, we just can't see them for the cloudy conditions.
