Anyone keeping a tally of how many shares they have now bought ? This has to make a difference soon surely ?
"Anyone keeping a tally of how many shares they have now bought ? This has to make a difference soon surely ?"
I've built a spreadsheet, on Google sheets, with googlefinance functions updating every minute and formulating the gains/losses of all my stocks across different accounts, both individually and cumulatively. I also have a self updating historic chart, showing daily individual stock loss/gains and the total loss/gain across all the stocks in all the accounts.
Vodafone has so far bought back 1,293,872,492 shares. So, there is still 224,757,201 shares to be bought back to fully neutralise the MBC share issue. At a rate of 6,074,521 shares per session, 37 more buyback sessions are required.
Best Regards ValueS
Share buybacks. After all those shares have been bought back, it will probably all start over again with another MBC share buy back. MBC. is the way vod borrows money, which it still has to do, unless vod sells off all its assets. It is a case of getting the right balance, between debt & keeping valuable assets, not as easy as some think. (Without the benefit of hindsight). P.S. Was fleccy joking with his post? or just showing off?
"P.S. Was fleccy joking with his post? or just showing off?"
I was being honest, so I suppose I was showing off if anyone wants to view it that way. I'd share some of the charts, but then viewers would know how much I'm currently down lol.
Dan I don’t think VOD have any MBC left. Just 60bn of normal bonds they owe investors one day.
Maybe they issue stock to meet a payment, but that is not a Mandatory Convertible Bond.
VOD has c €10Bn hybrid bonds maturing out to FY41+
https://investors.vodafone.com/debt-investors/financing-strategy
'Hybrid bonds blend debt- and equity-like characteristics in a single security, and they crucially get classed partially as equity by credit rating agencies. They have proved popular with investors as they offer more yield than traditional corporate bonds.'
I guess these bits of info are what is helping to keep the SP a bit comatose when people look under the bonnet...
