Prediction Guesses for 22/04/22
well good luck guys, hope we have a good week
robleo 1.32
offmessage 1.36
daniel 1.35
FredRubble 1.33
mole_man99 1.26
sotonspike 135.2
Just to be pessimistic I'm going for 1.30 - in the hope I get it totally wrong again and everyone benefits.
Cheers - C
Sorry offmessage, I hope you win, I didn't see your 1.36. As for C.S.D.I. Well, what do you expect from a Lloyds banker?
No worries, I'll be happy if you win too... not the best start to the week so far
It sounds like Mikey is getting confused again by saying" looks like we are in for a rough week yet again" The last 2 weeks have been good for the vod sp? Poor Mikey.
Does anybody on here have any idea what Mikey is going on about? The sp today is about the same as this time last year, before rising over the next few weeks to about £1.41 on the 14th May, it then fell quite sharply & continued to fall afterwards according to the info on this site.
Hopefully we have a few more ladders to climb before we hit that snake, then it will depend on the size of the snake, you have to be very brave to play this game, it's not for the snow flakes ?
Hi robleo. Although I would love to get back my capitol losses on my vod investment, I am now happy to hold for the 7% divi, so if the sp is about the same in a years time as today, I will be happy with a 7% return. If the sp rises by much, then I will be very happy. If of course the sp dives then I will be cheesed off, but I am not going to whinge about it.
Depends on junky Talktalk , if VOD buys it, 100p, if not , at least above 130p.
Don’t know why Vodafone is even interested with Talktalk, which has nothing in its core and bad reputation. My price tag is 0 for it, I could be wrong!
It's quite plain to see what Mikey means - just making a factual observation.
VOD buying TT and thus increasing debt would seem compatible with VOD's strategy. After all, we can't let investors prosper can we?
Dan I know your fully aware of all the possibility's here, and if your happy to hold and ride out the waves, that's all that matters, If I was heavily invested in Vodafone I think I would be tempted to sell a small percentage off should this pass the 140 but without that crystal ball who knows what's right or wrong, for me this is only 5% of my portfolio and think it maybe best to just leave alone for now as the dividends are covering the brokers holding fees and a little extra and I would be selling at a loss, most of my dividend stocks are either in profit or floating in and out of profit, what I find works best for me is to top up my current shares should the share price drop below my average, rather than, selling off and buying new shares all the time, quite often when I have bought a new share thinking it's a good entry price and it's now going to go up and up, it will go down and down instead, unless I see something I think is really good bargain, some investors on these boards will tell you everything they touch turns to gold, so maybe they are very good at picking the right shares at the right time, but I cant say that's been my experience
Hi robleo. Thanks for your reply. You always puzzle me though when you say the divi's are covering brokers holding fees. I pay no broker holding fees, but if you do, then you are going to find far more difficult to make a profit.
With Hargreaves shares and fund holding charges 0.45% capped at £45 per annum. most of the fund ongoing charges are discounted, meaning my legal@gen funds ongoing charges are less than they would be from legal & general direct, but then they bump it up by adding their holding fees, and no charge for buying and selling funds so not so bad with the funds, not as good as no charges though, I currently have 7 shares and 7 funds and one investment trust in my sipp and other shares in my isa, so think it would be expensive and a lot of hassle to move elsewhere, would be a lot easier i expect if i was just moving one share, so you have an advantage in paying no charges
cheers
I am on Fidelity and £45 a year too.
This Talktalk thing is annoying, is Nick Read MAD?? Talktalk is useless, no core asset at all, I would never use its "service", BT and VM are the only possible broadband options for me.
Nick Read can not get deal done, and got desperate so wants to buy Talktalk? I genuinely hope he is not so stupid, although I start to lose patience and confidence on him.
Well it looks like the evil mole-man is hot favourite at the moment, boo, hiss! But robleo in 2nd place could pip him to the post, come on rob, you can do it?
You never know dan, it could get a bit of a sprint on, at least it's holding up so far
More likely to start dropping back down as we get closer to 2.30
How dare you Dan
what about the prediction from the Lloyds banker aka CSDI - it's closer to my 1.30 than the evil kinevil's 1.26 LOL
Suppose I didn't wanna win anyway
Cheers - C
Hey Dan - lovely ski slope forming now .
All of my shares are down today so, i wouldn't be too hard on Vodafone
Been a grinding week so VOD coming to me thanks to the market mood. 'Fraid I shall be predicting more glumness for next week. Just too much trouble for the world to work through right now, financial and otherwise.
Don't worry. 2023 is nearly here.
C.S.D.I. yeah, sorry I missed your 1.30, but you still came 2nd, but far better than me. Well done mole-man?? boo. hiss. As for Mikey, well he has obviously had a good day drinking tea in his garden, playing with his pussy's & watching the sp fall, while waiting for the men in white coats to turn up. Perhaps if Mikey is lucky, he can get a retirement job in the £1 shop selling vodafone shares? Either that or as a Ski Instructor, as he clearly is an expert on ski slopes.
