Any predictions on this weeks results?
News not received well it seems but long term looks like VMU doing some cost saving, and will be interesting to see what next quarter performance report will make of the strategy.
P.S. Well done to those who held and broke even or made gains from the recovery.
GL & ATB.
British lender Virgin Money UK said on Thursday it will close 39 stores as the company continues to see a drop in footfall and transaction volumes.
"Access to a bank and cash is a fundamental need for all our local high streets," UK's labour union Unite said in a separate statement about the store closures.

Share price will rise as inline with other banking operations in the UK
Yikes!
How will the market view this?
Sold this morning at £1.80. I reckon this is a good long term hold, but I was showing good profit after heavily averaging down during this SVB debacle and my portfolio was too heavily weighted towards UK banks. GLA.
Only will wait till next div
Yes that's correct but as per the new market data i can see my break even then im exiting this deadwood
@elphi - What personal analysis are you using or based on? As thought your gut feeling said this share was deadwood a few months ago.
The yield on the current SP is actually 6.7% not the 2% shown here and with the last two actual divs having beaten the forecasts by a large margin, I suspect the final div is going to be well worth having this year.
Great to see some movement.
As per my gut feeling of personal level analysis it will hit end of august to £2.10p
Looks like any doubts the market had have been removed by the stress tests. £2 soon
This is hugely undervalued currently. We have another 40p to go just to return to what it was not that long ago.
I am a LTH (in profit) and hanging on for much better returns.
Robust capital position and generation supports planned shareholder returns.
The Group’s capital position has remained robust since the 30 June 2022 balance sheet start date of the stress test. The Group delivered underlying capital generation of c.180bps of CET1 in the twelve months to March 2023, whilst distributing c.100bps of capital back to shareholders, resulting in a 14.7% CET1 ratio as at March 2023.
As recently announced at half year 2023 results, the Group continues to expect to operate above a 14% CET1 ratio during FY23, given the level of macroeconomic uncertainty and expects to return to its target CET1 range of 13-13.5% in FY24. In line with the Company’s published capital framework and dividend policy, the Group expects a 30% full year dividend payout level, supplemented with buybacks subject to ongoing assessment of surplus capital, market conditions and regulatory approval.
Given the successful completion of the ACS stress test, and as previously guided, the Group anticipates resuming its buyback programme during FY23, subject to Board and regulatory approvals.
Ah thanks, I missed that. Makes sense. Hopefully we get a decent recovery from here.
Pretty sure its the stress test results as per rns.
Still going! Does anyone have any idea why? I can’t see anything in the news.
On stress test results?
British shares are best for income seekers. In the USA they don't pay dividend as generously as here.
IP3LY just noticed your post.
I rarely trade this tbh but comes on the radar occasionally. Great potential. Migrated to VMUK as a Clydesdale customer. I like the jib of it.
Building a nice position and think the 170p is achievable in the ST. Adding and trimming as usual.
Forecast by Barclays risen now to 220 for virgin today !
Lth
I missed selling out yesterday but out £1.49 this morning no capital loss just not expecting this to move up didn’t like results even if we get rallying market. But did buy HSBA and LLOY on yesterday’s drop expect these to outperform virgin with me investing more in the latter.GL
G’morning MaryBr190 - How strange must be a couple of the platforms I was using then. Anyhow, managed to get some at 142 in the end - so not all too bad.
Nice one on getting 137 ;) Yes divi and re-rate will be welcomed but not too sure with latter any time soon - patience defo needed on this one.
GL & ATB.
Just seen, yes HL no issue with quotes at all yesterday. doubled up at 137p and looking forward to dividend and a rerate.
