In the grand scheme of things the bod,s don’t really pay themselves that much when you look at other companies in the same situation, they are rich and in my view committed to the cause
Annual cash outgoings is running at around 7% of current Mkt Cap. Sustainable for the Directors, not so good for SHs.
@LtdAxis - agree. Bought 50,000 CSFS August 22 at £0.0897, wish I bought more now! 😊
Ltd Axis - our average is over 50p for CSFS so still a way to go yet but definitely nice to see it going in the right direction.
As far we are all aware the cash position of the company is next to nothing unless they have sold some shares. I think they would need to RNS any significant share disposals in CDT so assume they haven't sold any of them which is unfortunate as we could have sold some over $5 but now the reduction in the CDT share price heavily outweighs any gains in our other investments. We also have no cash to invest in any other shares so all out eggs are effectively in CDT basket.
With the Put option being exercised and a few of our investments looking better maybe all is not lost. Still think the BOD are pathetic and care free but certainly looking better than 1 year ago. Just need too see that reflected in the SP.
Cornerstone still motoring and must be close to profit ?
Wish I’d added some at 6p a year ago!
I have built a position in Ensilica now at 31.5p.
Seems better to gamble on our investments at a low rather than vela itself! Enet is a good example and have done well trading that recently .
Looks like Vela's settled in to one of it's holding patterns again, stuck around the .02 mark and unable to break free. No news due that I'm aware of now that the excitement of the CDT business has been concluded, same old portfolio slowly dwindling away, no money in the bank. Single digits of trades each day, no RNS or updates - all very familiar.
Personally I hope the next update shows they sold some CDT at $5 or more, maybe $1mil or so to keep a healthy amount in reserve and allow them to actually make some investments which after all is what the whole point of Vela is. Can't see any reason we'd see any sort of a move towards fair value until then.
OK, just looked now. What is the interest in Bio-techne?
CDT just went sub $3!
In contrast cornerstone and skillcast are both at year highs . Ensilica might be worth a flutter at these levels
The ‘short’ interest in CDT has dropped to 1.28%.
It was over 30% in December which probably explains why the share price was taken for a ride …
Holding the 200ema last 4 days
Yup, there is little volume, but no strong support levels down here. Dropped through the 50dma yesterday without a pause, next psychological support would be $3, then previous trough around $2.60. But the only serious previous volume was around $1.60.
Its just going to fall until it finds buying volume.
Probably better buying CDT at these levels instead of vela, especially if it hits $1.60.
CDT not giving much news or reason to buy.
Not sure if they have sold any Cornerstone shares but based on the amount showing on Vela’s website it shows 595902 shares. They have gone up from 22p in late Dec to 30p so at least that is something. £47K extra ish
CDT taking a dump early doors, could be
Exactly Dave, that is the question that needs answering but we will only find out the answer when we get the next quarterly update when they detail what shares they have sold to fund company costs.
I have been very consistent on this point that the BoD should have sold some CDT when it was increasing. even 100k shares at $5 would have yielded £400k which should fund the company for a year. Instead it looks like we will be selling existing investments at losses, meaning we are evermore dependent on CDT. It's a shambles and that's why no one is investing here.
What is Plan B if CDT remains
Are we still in with cornerstone?
Thank you for sharing!🙏
Another positive ( maybe not earth shattering) RNS from one of our investments. This time MTI Wireless.
In the boards defence there were quite a few posters on here telling us CDT is going to $10 after Xmas, maybe the BoD thought it would too.
I guess they didn't tell us when after Xmas!
We have seen how quickly things can change with CDT. The SP could easily and fly up or down in no time. The problem is if it does increase again will the clowns actually sell. Normally we watch our investments rise then watch them fall too all time lows and then they sell them too keep the lights on.
Its a combination of everything. The lack of comms from the BoD, the bad investments which they have watched go from highs all the way down to all time lows, the accidental investment in TSP, investing the last of the cash reserves meaning we have to sell some of the older investments at a substantial loss etc. We are valued over £2.5m below our investment value which would not be the case if the Market had trust in the BoD. Our CDT investment alone accounts for the MCap let alone the other investments totalling over £2.5m. Although what have the Board sold in the last quarter and this quarter, time will tell....
It sure is. Bad news Vela goes down, good news Vela goes down. Craziness.
