Pay out not more the 14 days after 1st August 2022 .
Better if I had waited .
I Would not of been charged 0.85% in interest for the one month .
The higher 4% APR divided by 12 = 0.334 %
I took 34.7p approx 0.85% below the offer , as needing and having the cash about one month before sanction by the court mentioned below .

UK government approves acquisition of Ultra Electronics by Cobham- Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC on Thursday said that its acquisition by Cobham Group Holdings Ltd has received all antitrust and regulatory approvals.
Back in August last year, Ultra agreed to a GBP2.57 billion takeover offer from former London listing Cobham. Cobham said it would pay GBP35.00 per share in cash for Ultra.
In June, UK Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng launched a consultation into the undertakings offered by Cobham to acquire Ultra, which makes submarine-hunting equipment as well as control systems for the fleet of Trident submarines that carry the UK's nuclear deterrent. The deal was originally held up on national security grounds.
Aerospace contractor Cobham was a FTSE 250 company before it was bought by private equity firm Advent International in January 2020 in a controversial deal which had sparked debate over UK national security.
On Wednesday, Kwarteng gave the acquisition the green light to proceed.
The acquisition remains subject to other conditions, including sanction by the court which is expected to take place on 28th July .

Now what's happening!
What government? Last I heard the PM was partying and then going joy-riding in war planes. He's getting his money's worth; we aren't.
Now the Gov't have finally OK'd the takeover, does anyone know the timetable to completion?

Hallelujah!
I've never known a takeover take so long to be resolved. That ******* Kwasi Kwarteng has sat on this for over 10 months. Typical of MPs & Civil servants who have no idea what is involved in running a business. They all seem to think we live in a static world where nothing changes so they can take as long as they wasn't over decisions affecting a commercial company. A company can't go 11 months without knowing who runs them, Crazy. Is there one member of this Government who would be capable of running a market stall?
Anyway, the good news is the waiting should soon be over and the takeover should go ahead.
Patience is rewarded.

We simply do not have a government competent and trustworthy enough to make this kind of decision.
Refers to an announcement from HM Gov't, but I can't find that anywhere. Can anyone supply a link?
Many thanks

And two months on - we still don't know. This is getting ridiculous.
I've never known a takeover take so long to sort out. I don't think I've missed any updates - hard to tell when there are so many RNSs about shareholdings
I did actually write to the company to request an update. They replied admirably quickly to say everything was still on track & there would be an update IN January.
I believe that uk gov decision by the 18th January
I think we're long overdue for an update on what is happening re the takeover - is it going ahead smoothly? If not what is blocking it? If the UK Gov't are investigating it I thin the company should at least officially tell us.
If anyone has any hard facts It'd be good to hear.
Is there any relevance to Ultra to the Santander link?

does anyone know when we will get the money back on these?
I think the main reason the sp is not up at the £35 level, which is where the offer has been made and the BoD have accepted, is that being in the defence sector the UK Gov't may scupper the bid,
I can't se it as most of their work is in the US any way
But it's not just a question of bid being accepted by BoD & shareholders,
I guess today's weakness is a reflection of the potential Gov't involvement,
Never heard of this company till it was in the news, not sure how it can be trading a chunk below the inevitable offer that's going to be formalised at 3,516.00 thinking it might be worth a punt.

Teverham beat me to it. (-;
I thought I read that the dividend was on top of the £35 so £35.16 per share.
If that is the case I can't see why it would be discounted.
Vinod, the divi is on top of the £35 and the discount arises because some investors would rather take cash now and reinvest elsewhere than risk the deal not going through for any reason. Personally i am waiting and adding.
Can someone please explain me the maths behind 35 including dividend? Dividend is on 16.2p per share so does that mean that the market is discounting the price from 34.84 to the current price of 32.80? Thanks

I think the current price represents the crowd's appetite today. ie Nothing is nailed on. I was Raleigh on here ( change of tech, change of name ). Over 50% for me in 6 months.
Can only speak from my perspective, which is never turn down a good deal in the hope of a better one - everyone will view it in their own way.
Are we guaranteed for the sp to go to £35 because that's the offer even if its not accepted,in the mean time?

Hi guys
This is my first share that has been part of a takeover so I'm unsure how this will pan out but I'm a bit confused why anyone would be selling when it's almost guaranteed to rise another 6.8% or so and many people are selling.
Been an odd one for me, but turned out well. That'll do.
talks terminated

This one is not working for me. I have sold.
A chance with this one, but ages away.

Not a lot to be taken from the update, encapsulated, business as usual.
"Order intake remains strong with good revenue growth, as anticipated. Operating margins are slightly better than expected due to lower indirect costs related to the pandemic. These costs are expected to normalise in 2021, alongside further investment in the business, as previously communicated."
Views on future USA defence, under Biden. Difficult to see him picking a fight with the Pentagon and it's backers as part of his plans to unite the country, and domestic matters are an obvious first in that respect. I imagine there will at least be subtle changes in defence priorities, over quite a lengthy period. Nothing drastic, but most going to be stuck with fairly flat budgets anyway.

Although the price has ticked up Thursday and Friday, on both days far more was sold than bought. What do these II's know?
17-Jul-20 17:48:23 2,087.791 209,885 Sell* 2,088.00 2,090.00 4m
I sold out Thursday, as I strongly suspected I could get back in at a lower price. Not sure I want to now.

So on the 12th June, Invesco up their stake from 5% to 10% of ULE as per RNS. That is 7m shares. Looking at the volumes for each day, it looks like most were bought on the 11th, with a 1m candle, though its been done on the sly and not affected the SP much. We also have multiple directors buying in since March, who now have a lot of skin in the game. Now today we have 15m bought vs 2m sold. I think the smart money is buying these up, and I agree with the brokers notes that this share could reach circa £25. ULE deferred their dividend back in April due to Covid, however there seems to have been no impact upon their business. Im hopeful of nice payout and a nice rise up to the interim results 30th July. I did sell out of these, but soon bought back in, and have been building a large position here at £19 and £20. Hope to get some more but fear £21 has been passed now!

Good news on US navy deal. Should see this one weathering the COVID storm and moving up onwards.
12% shorted now.

Any reason for todays rise?
Still 9% shorted which is worrying.

Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC
06 August 2018
London, UK, 6 August 2018 Edison issues outlook on Ultra Electronics (ULE)
The overall picture of improving global defence spending supports a return to organic growth for UItra. This is already reflected in the uplift seen in the order book at the H118 report. The company is well positioned to leverage the growth in naval budgets and increased demand for military aircraft around the world. Ultra also has a significant role to play in commercial aerospace, energy and cyber markets.
Our fair value is 1,918p. We calculate our estimated fair value of the company as a simple average of the discounted cash flow and sum-of-the-parts measures, currently 1,918p (previously 1,811p). Our valuations reflect the lower share count due to the £134m share buyback. The increase largely reflects improved global defence sector ratings on the back of increasing defence spend.
