Mdumba - So you are using my comment about the placing that must come to finance the Turkey shoot to make a point about UKOG Kimmeridge changing its name. No wonder I am confused.
It might make things a little clearer if you reply to the relevant subject heading.
Suggest you read the thread Troll-Finder - irritating noise from timewasters on here who are trying to make a big issue about UKOG Kimmeridge, a company that has never traded and has been dormant from day 1 changing its name as part of the structuring for the investment in Turkey........ There are other more cogent items to discuss on this BB rather than people trying to make mischief by blowing up non-stories
Mdumba when you say, "Why on earth does anyone give a fig about a dormant company changing its name? That company has always been dormant. Why bother going through the time and pain of creating a new subsidiary for the group......."
Are you sure you are posting on the correct BB?
Why on earth does anyone give a fig about a dormant company changing its name? That company has always been dormant. Why bother going through the time and pain of creating a new subsidiary for the group when you already have one to hand that could be used to hold the interest - and you would expect to hold such an interest through a separate SPV within the group, not least because if this venture becomes successful and the interest is sold down the track then you would get corporation tax benefits from selling a subsidiary of an operating company in which you held a substantial interest. Who cares about a dormant company changing its name over time, not least when most of those changes simply reflected changes in the higher corporate ownership. It is clear you know nothing about corporate structuring and seem to want to make something out of an article which appears to be, at best, a content filler but which seems to be paraded as something more than it is. Its the ultimate "Non-Story"!
ShanJo,
The consolidation question comes up a lot here.
Can't see it myself, and there seems no real benefit in considering this course of action.
My preference has, and always will be, a share buy-back, but this requires revenue (a lot) and will be a long way off too, even if Turkey is a success in the short term (revenue will be used elsewhere).
Sadly, for investors, a raise does seem inevitable too, but in what form, how much and when?
With silent Steve, the next move here is anyone's guess.

The significance of Thursday? Well it was on Thursday the 23rd July that the RNS about the great UKOG Turkey Shoot dropped. So we are 8 weeks down the line.
The timeline in the RNS was given as a few weeks (submitting application) plus 2 months (Turkish Government approval process). So are we just a few Thursdays away from the point at which UKOG need to raise multi-millions of pounds?
Last week I caused some residents of the BB to throw a hissy fit when I said that my guess for the placing price for the death spiral finance was 0.17p. Given that the SP is still in the doldrums and that there is unlikely to be any news anytime soon, that is likely to raise the SP, I am sticking with my guess.
On the plus side, all those throwing the hissy fits last week did say that they were going to filter me so I shouldn't receive any hate mail this time around.
