The energy crisis may have something to do with it.
But it's true, even if the appeal decision goes UKOG's way, there will be more bureaucratic hoops to jump through further down the line.
Basur-Resan should be much quicker.

I have just checked and PEDL234 does not have a production licence for oil either.
Boy, are the stories coming out today. Guess it is the price one has to pay for oil and gas in the UK.
Yes I agree but maybe not a couple of months but within a year if allowed to get on with it

How about having to go back to SCC and NSTA to get planning permission to produce the gas and the EA for permits.
Why is it you all want to run before you can even walk?
"It sounds as if you think that Loxley could be fast tracked with drilling, testing & production becoming a single continuous process as SS described the process working in Turkey"
Nearly two years in Turkey and no completed well yet - yup just the same as the UK

It sounds as if you think that Loxley could be fast tracked with drilling, testing & production becoming a single continuous process as SS described the process working in Turkey. PEDL234 is already a production licence?

If Loxley planning permission is granted it is not the planning officers who will be overruled but the committee members who voted it down despite advices warnings from officers and there solicitor at both planning meetings.

You really astound me. How the hell can you say "They could monetise Loxley in months once approved." when UKOG say
Access and Well Site Construction 14 weeks
Phase 2 Drilling, Testing and Appraisal 59 weeks
Well Plugging, Abandonment and Decommissioning Phase 3 - 5 weeks
which is nearly 1 1/2 years or 3 years in UKOG speak.
Dream on sunshine. Your posts still make us laugh.
Yes, especially following the chancellors comments this morning that we need to priorities domestic Gas supplies.
Perfect storm for UKOG.
They could monetise Loxley in months once approved.

7th june for loxley dession. could we see council over ruled?
Boris Johnson said he wants to keep North Sea oil and gas flowing to help tackle the rising cost of living, and urged companies to boost investment.
The prime minister’s comments underscore the contortions forced upon UK energy policy by the inflation crisis and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The government is breaking climate pledges made as host of the COP26 conference in December by mounting a £5 billion tax raid on the oil and gas industry that will subsidize fuel consumption and incentivize drilling.
“I don’t think we can turn our backs entirely on hydrocarbons,” Johnson said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Friday. “The UK actually has a flourishing sector in the northeast of Scotland. It’s very important, we’ve got to keep that going.”
In his drive to lower the cost of energy by boosting supply, Johnson also stressed the importance of further investment in green technology and renewables ... (from Bloomberg)
For each to interpret as best they can.
" but, as far as I am aware, provided no indication as to what that might mean."
After the next election I'd guess :((((((((
It leaves Kwasi Kwarteng high and dry, he was (indeed, is) the minister with responsibility for energy strategy.
because they're weak and they'll cave in to a sustained amount of pressure from social media zealots. They need to be liked. Plus - this is a cover up for the frat boy in number 10. This is not a conservative government.
Any belief that any UK government will do anything to help UK oil or gas companies is in my option misplaced. there's no desire there whatsoever. none. Bunch of idiots
Rishi Sunak announced that the levy on oil and gas profits will only be maintained until oil prices have "normalised", but, as far as I am aware, provided no indication as to what that might mean.
The government's energy strategy, which sought to encourage investment in the North sea, doesn't appear to have survived for very long.
