I thought Dma****er was wondering why the sudden drop last week, looks like another today, am expecting the SP to stay around this level until further news, things go quiet with this one for long periods, maybe some news in May? results.
If you read back through the posts for the last month and check out some of the links you will see that there has been quite a bit of press coverage on the new Tata Pixel which features a Torotrak transmission. This, along with increased revenue from existing agreements, has helped to push the sp up. Hope you are in. ATB.
whats happened?
Did not get any comments but it was Rover Not BMW that Tata are injecting the £1b.! BMW of course being the previous owners. The application of the transmission to the Landrover range might make sense. Larryh- did look at iii, the impressions I had from posts there being that SP is just catching up to the Allison licence payments as was my own thoughts. Hope there is more in it though.
Good morning! Well, I hope your patience is eventually rewarded, one way or another. They seem to be a very innovative company, It will be interesting to see what they have in the pipeline they allude to.
The prospect of a takeover is good maybe for the investor who bought in recent times but I think a lot of investors hung on to them after buying in years ago. My own average is 62p. Considering the length of time these investments have been 'sleepers', my own idea of a good return would mean a SP of double that. That could well be achievable with licence revenues from a major company but not a likely takeover price in my own opinion. It has been such a long game that you may wonder if you will live to see it come right. It's an exciting time meanwhile.
exactly my sentiments now. wait for a retrace or buy now, that is the question.
I'm thinking very much the same. I liked this firms ideas when I first got in with a 1k investment at 147p exactly 10 years ago. When they subsequently plummeted, I decided to hold, and then supplemented with a 10k addition at around 20p. I've been watching their progress closely, and have felt for some time that a larger company will want to take over once all the development risks have been reduced. I see that over the past 2 days, over 1% of the issued shares have been purchased in those 'round number' trades.
Didn't see them, makes things more interesting though. There was speculation a while ago about Allison making bid. If you think about Tata themselves, they could easily buy out TRK with small change. They are currently pumping in £1 billion a year into BMW. It might only take an announcement of the use of the transmission in a small BMW to pump up the price of this share to what was speculated on years ago. Pure speculation on my part for now though!
Your wish has been granted! I've just been reading the iii bb. I don't normally leave LSE, but there is far more chat there, surprisingly, with lots of ideas discussed. Looks like there is a good future for trk shares. I was expecting a small retrace this morning, but it never came, did it!
Someone is trying to build a stake though - there has been a steady flow of purchase orders for 10000 shares at a time (or other round numbers) throughout the day.
I just wished for 10% a day! Just smallish trades from P.E's from what I've seen. Small volumes do move this share. I've seen no news today, perhaps interest just catching up to recent news.
"a bit?!" Such a surge today (50p) and no-one on here saying why!
No, I did not get back in, even though I agreed with my original feelings that it would continue to rise. I am noticing that my normal long-term patience is declining. Must be my interest in the commodities scene that is influencing my better judgement. Must stop reading books like Treasure Island! gl to you and all toro investors.
Great day, 10% a day for the rest of the week would be nice. Some more good news would do it.
Hope you managed to get back in, this may have a bit further to go yet.
How does that song go.... if you buy they fall, so you sell and then they go up! Maybe Tata should rethink the function of the Nano and change it into one of those millions of 3-wheeler taxis they have in India. Mind you, they can get a whole family onto a push bike, so just imagine what they could do with a Nano!
Nice to see this top of the risers board today.
Licence payments of £6.7m now due from Allinson and Charles Stanley Securities have target price of 40p. i was impressed by the recent FT article reporting that Torotrak will not be replacing two retiring board members in a cost cutting move. They did say that the company might show a loss this year. Overall my own impressions are of a company that is finally showing signs of getting somewhere. I bought in years ago.
The Pixel looks great, as long as you are single or only need to pop out for a pint of milk!! http://carandvannews.co.uk/2011/03/03/geneva-show-%E2%80%93-tata%E2%80%99s-pixel-turns-more-than-heads/ Would be nice if Tata can sort out the production problems that have plagued the Nano and bring the Pixel to the market with a Torotrak gearbox.
cant see my 1591 buy at 0830 on the LSE list - why I wonder, I usually see my trades?
deed done, bought a few. This IVT gearbox must have a good future and the Tata pixel will be excellent publicity for it. Can't understand why people want to pratt around changing gears all the time in city traffic. It's probably them that live on blasting their horns at others trying to park because they're so tensed up instead of sitting back and relaxing! See it all the time where I live, always the big gas-guzzlers who are impatient.
anyone know how real this car is, or is it just fantasy?
Now why didn't I follow my own nose and get a few of these on Monday! drats and double drats!
Hope there is a lot more to go on this one.
