sounds like they were saying 'sell some/most, and keep your profits in' (i.e. put it on free carry) which would have been rather good advice
Nice positive trading update today
Up and down daily; glad to watch from the sidelines as a long tern investor.
3 x strong buy, 1 x neutral http://www.digitallook.com/cgi-bin/dlmedia/security.cgi?username=&ac=&csi=13842
Another very positive update today by ST on the IC website with expectation of good news at AGM next month and a target price of 140p. Have just topped up at today's lower price and as it's one of my bigger holdings I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Good company with still a lot of potential.
Good evening board. I am glad to see the 5% blue day on this share price. My average has been 105.68 so I have been slightly down for while, but this has pushed me into a little unrealised profit now. PE was a little high, may still be, but I like the business, and good cash flow I hoped to see some uplift on this share. Most of my portfolio was blue today, which is encouraging. Most my portfolio is small cap, which has been bearish recently. I guess I can't be complacent I will gladly accept more days like this. GLA
TRI sold a subsidiary to AVG. Considering it was loss makin it should enhance earnings from here on in, and AVG's cash will lower the EV here. Need to do some research to work things out but all in all TRI is looking v good. Additional note to self - aim prospector covered TRI favourably
right at the heart of a mad afternoon of selling (7th Nov '12) lol ...traded in/out ..and now on free carry of 7k shares
Well played! And btw I was just joshing before that your holding was so large that when you sold the share price fell a few percentage points lol Out of interest when did you first buy in? Was it after that stellar acquisition? And does your EV/EBIT ratio take the acquistion into account? An EV/EBIT of 8-9 is pretty damn good / cheap in my opinion considering the market average is far above that surely.
I did @1.26..back in @1.08 ...not cheap...perhaps EV/EBIT this year 8-9...but nicely placed imv
good bounce this morning
Your profit taking? lol
Thanks. Leaves more on the table for the rest of us when it reverses.
.
Why the almost 10% fall today? Seems to be no news.
many of those look fully...perhaps a tad over...priced now...unlike TRI that looks fine atm with that transformational acquisition ..but they have certainly been sweet for investors (not me unfortunately)
Positive update from ST today. Recommends running profits. So, I guess that's a "HOLD"
Hi Mogie Sorry for late reply. But thanks for your input. I am currently deciphering you spreadsheet for RNWH. Thanks again capt
hi mate just saw ur post! yep I seen u in some good companies too. been in/out/trade various good companies and try to go for sound companies with good free cash flow, increasing net profits/growth etc...other stocks include TRCS, PRES, RNWH, HAYT, WGB etc and others.....nice quiet companies slowly doing their business with no spikes to keep day traders away!!!
May I put in a word for Sharescope !! I find it tremendously useful and easy to use. I hardly use any of the things it is capable of doing, but I find that looking at the share chart and the current state of play, plus the ability to go straight to the company website is extremel;y useful. I am also a great fan of Investor Chronicle.
Just keeps going!
Hi Mogie No worries. Thank you very much for your reply. I am actually holding RNWH and have just been reading your research post over there. I bought in there about 3 months ago. Your research is very thorough. There is a big discrepancy in the amount of research you do and the level I do. I need to be more like you. I read one of links which was from Investor Chronicle. Do you subscribe to Investor Chronicle. I have registered but not paid anything as yet. I was tempted at TRI when they were 80p but did not buy any. I of course regret that now. I also have an eye on GMS as well as TPT Once again thanks for your input and reply. Good luck
Hi Mogie Thanks for your reply. I have my eye on his second book. I would appreciate some pointers on how to find Zulu Stocks though. I my well take you up on your offer of answering questions in the near future. Thanks
Hi Mogie, I am in the process of reading the book by Jim Slater. Is it a book that you rate at all? I have only just started it and up to chapter three. I am relatively new to share dealing so looking to learn as much as I can. I am sure a lot of the principles are the same in today's dealing market however it is quite an old book now in comparison to today's technology. I have seen some of your posts on various board for some shares I have my eye on. Lookers being another one. You appear to be experienced in area of dealing, or at least well read on the subject. I am on holiday in Scotland for the next week but would be nice to compare notes sometime. Although I don't post very often I enjoy reading your posts and thank you for your time to post them. Cheers for now
