I just add a 20% more to my portfolio today... averaging down on what I think is a good company.
Hi Mike, any idea what is going on with TMIP please? Some big sells gone through today but after yesterdays announcement from the Chinese that they were taking measures to improve their economy and the reasonable start to the SP this morning have to say this is one of my most frustrating purchases inn many years.
Really weird. Possibly a big purchase they are slowly filling ? Given index has been strengthening am very pleased with any rise at the moment !
This SP is strange today, 15,000 sold and 300 odd purchased but the price is up. The other day it was the reverse, any ideas what is going on?
Thanks Mike. Got it. The en makes all the difference !
Should n't be any Chinese.
The website is en.stockq.org and then if you scroll down on the left to special sector indices and Baltic Handysize is in there.
Mike, initially got a load of chinese ! But then translated it. Presumably from the 469 it is referred to as the Baltic light type ?
Mike , yes you are absolutely right. That is even better news. Will look there from now on. Have a great weekend .
Sam, 459 was the close on Thursday, I assume you are looking at ukinvesting.com which tends to be a day behind. The close on Friday was 469, have a look at StockQ.org ,they report the actual number just after the close that day at 3pm.
Index closed at 459 I believe, up a VERY healthy 3.38 percent. More money to the company for certain.
Thanks Mike
Congratulations Sam.
Very good news . I am certainly hoping the share price will start to recover ….. but after the dividend reinvestment at the end of the month. But am happy to take the good news as want profit for deleverage as well as older ship sales. Off to the pub now….. became a grandad today !
BHSI up to 469 today, that is the highest since 15th June.
Yes I'd seen that Sam, thanks. Excellent as you say. Link posted here in case others haven't picked it up:

I tend to go to the rns’s for updates but have belatedly noticed that on Taylor maritime webpage under presentations there is an excellent trading update presentation that supplies more information than in the rns. Definitely worth a look ….. but I may have been the last one to spot it !
So true. A South African reisling . Superb. 1.566p per share announced this morning .
Ha ha
Red or white?
Who needs a reason!
You just made my evening Mike. Opened a bottle of wine . Cheers !!
....BHSI up 2.54% today to 444 so surely we will have 446+ tomorrow.
Fingers crossed Mike. Agreed re China. Thank you re the interest drop. Hadn't spotted that
Sam, spot on. The BHSI was 446 at the end of the last Quarter (June) so if the 2%+ daily increases of the last 4 days continue then we will be back there by the end of the week.
China seems to be a two edged sword at the moment, their economy is lethargic which increases the possibility of further fiscal stimulus, medium term interest rate was reduced yesterday by 0.15%.
I have been keeping an eye on the indexes. The lowest for bdiy index i recodred was on July 26 being 962. For bhsi index August 4 being 390. Since then they have risen to 1166 and 433, an increase of 21 % and 11% respectively. For those new here these are the indexes that apply to the majority of ships in taylors/ grindrod portfolio. The higher the index, the bigger the earnings. On this basis I have made a further investment. Have a great day all. Sam
Yes true
TMIP did go ex-dividend today.
