Mr D I think Tullow have been rightly punished for the missed guidance and also for the lack of transparency post the oil discoveries in Guyana. They knew it was heavy oil for sure!
However there is always tommorow and some food for thought below.
They have kitchen sinked it and am pretty sure the guidance given is revised down for the new CEO to report over performance in future results updates. I’d expect FCF closer to $250m
- a substantial asset sale near term will make a difference for sure and I expect this in H1 2020
- Guyana. Jethro and joe are being evaluated and news on commerciality and size of resource could be extremely material. Remember TLW has 60% and could farm down for $$$
- Carapa results are due and positive news on Cretaceous could be hugely material. Look at the impact on Hess.
Lots still to play for and all is not lost!
Mrd
Banks are not keen on running companies and unless there is more to come out of the woodwork (the Chair would have to be seriously daft for this to be the case) then it should steady as selling seems enormously overdone.
As strategy becomes clear then so will the path to value creation and even opportunistic bidders would need to be offering a hefty premium.
250p might be a ways off but there are strategic options to get them back there in 6-12 months with success at the drill bit and stabilising production numbers.
Good luck.
Only 9.6% of the shares were traded today (135m/1407m) ...with a 70% drop in the share price
Interesting to see any TR-1's in the next few days , with regards to "large players dumping "
Yes... dont ask. Im ashamed to say put my last 60k in today at 68p
Sorry for those who lost here today. It’s a mug’s game atm.
Precisely Bozzy, there is always tomorrow with the stock market.
Very risky putting all your eggs in one basket especially for only a possible 4% gain, it would have been far better putting it all in bonds if you were waiting for recession.
Laker23, absolutely! I'd rather have suffered this today, than a loss of life like those effected by the volcano in NZ.
I agree. How this went from 200p being recommended to PIs by brokers to this today is actually illegal! I will take this as an expensive lesson, if it means I don't lose any more money on the stock market ever again then it will likely actually be worth it.
MrD
shocking mate I really feel for you!!! Thats the horrendous kind of harsh reality this game can inflict. Hope you can recover it somehow
Im done now. Either this comes back or it doesnt. All I know is I've fed the stock market enough. Stupid ponzi scheme! Just killed me off.! How can you lose 70% in one day. Im sure the casino is more fun than this..
I remember PMO very well spoke personally to the CEO Anthony Durrant I lost £10k on that fiasco had a stop order tripped out NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Sorry to hear that Mr D - and to everyone else having a difficult day with this one.
I don't want this to sound flippant, but it is just money. Everyone take some time to kiss their wives/husbands/kids/parents tonight and remember what really matters.
Mrd - you are crazy.
I hate the markets today - that undisclosed short on PMO (17% for 2 + years) is a disgusting disgrace highlighting that trading in stocks and shares is mainly an activity for criminals to make money.
Thoughts with you mrd.
In the future my money goes in the bank - been trading for a few years and the general pattern seems to be that PI's get shafted and crap management get rewarded. This was the last staw for me. I am man enough to take it on the chin but I walk away now.
No I came out of the stock market. Had 350k in account. Waiting to go in during recession. Decided when this dropped from 205p was an overreaction thought id make 3-4% on a bounce. Not have total wipeout. Never in my wildest dreams
Thunder - in future have a stop loss or ensure you cut your loses at a certain % threshold.
The more you lose in % terms the more you have to make back in % terms.
For example -
- lose 10%, you have to make back over 11%.
- lose 50%, you have to make back over 100%
Lot are in same boat... tomorrow could be recovery... No Loss till you sell in LOSS
Mr D...surely with that much in here you've got a diverse portfolio??
Lot circa 50% of a punt this morning at 72p - could not hold into close, time for a break from share trading!
Poker - and i've already stated it was a mistake to close at 69p.
Hinkais. See you tomorrow.
Lost 150k on here today. In one day. Probably more..
This will teach me to "bottom fish". Bought in at 54p, lost a third already.... at least I'm not buying at 200p I guess.
