I hope we can flog it. As someone who is self employed the three letters which bring me out in a cold sweat and cause me to have to sit down are FOC. Let's hope we don't have to use them.
When it was announced some weeks ago that our spoil was in demand I tried to find out how much it would go for per tonne but all avenues drew a blank.
It would be interesting to know the going rate.
Maybe if sold the unexpected revenue could be passed on to us as a pre production divi as a thank you for our patience and backing.
I know there's no chance.
But if you don't ask you don't get.
So i did some quick calculations;
Assuming most of the Strabag tunnel is going to be redcard mudstone all the way( which everything seems to point out that it is)
With a diameter of 3.7m and a length of 37km, that is around 641,580 m3 of raw material.
Mudstone has an average density of 2.2 tonnes per m3, so that equals 1,283,160 tonnes in total, not counting vertical shafts.
If your estimate of 10£ a ton is correct, that represents around 12m £, which would be a nice cost saver if realised. Considering that disposing of the material in itself has to be costly to Sirius.
Sorry, i got the wrong final diameter data ( it has changed several times in the life of the project)
Assuming 6 meters diameter, that gives 22m£ in mudstone
Lives I thought we lth were not expecting any gains before 2023 ? and until then we were supporting sxx FOC

Don't tell me that I'll have to sit down and wipe that sweat from my brow.
What is the meaning of F O C?
So very roughly speaking would that give us a divi of approx 0.25p?
My maths is crap so don't shoot me down if that's way off.
It's quiet because there's a lack of green filter boxes today
does this mean good news is imminent?

I've gotta sit down now having wrote that.
Hi 15 lives, many thanks for the information. GLA.
Around 0.3p considering we have 7 billions shares currently.
But not that it matters that much, since even if we are able to get any money from it, it would be dripping slowly over the many months/years remaining until tunnel its finished.
It would make sense to give it as a dividend with so much outstanding debt at that point.
It would be a nice little bonus revenue before production if the company is able to sell the bonds and not die out next month.
Emayoralc
It would be a nice thank you bonus.
I think I'd buy more shares with mine and turn each grand bonus into a couple of hundred quid lol.
Only joking.
I think.
Guys - cut this conversation. Three reasons why this just won’t happen - the company needs every penny of cashflow, the RCF will not permit it and company law does not permit it as the company has no distributable reserves.
Foxhound
I did suggest it in jest.
"Maybe if sold the unexpected revenue could be passed on to us as a pre production divi as a thank you for our patience and backing. I know there's no chance. But if you don't ask you don't get." 15LIVES
____
There is no chance because dividends are by definition a distribution of post-tax surplus profits and not revenue.
Understanding of the basic financial concepts wouldn't hurt either.
KOH
Money earned would potentially go into reserves and therefore payable as dividend?
Anyways I’ll pay the driver(?) a tenner for every 1km is ahead of schedule :-)

As I stated earlier today straight after my divi post it was said in jest.
Your need to bring it up again several hours later clearly shows you're still annoyed at being shown to be an idiot yesterday by your definition of ' promised'.
Read your original post 15LIVES, it clearly indicates a lack of basic understanding of the concept of dividend. No doubt about it. Your have then been exposed by Foxhound in his post at 12:46 . The moment you realized how stupid your original post you attempted to twist the situation around and started suggesting that it was said "in jest". Was it really? Chronology doesn't lie.
Your original sentence says it all: "Maybe if sold the unexpected revenue could be passed on to us as a pre production divi as a thank you for our patience and backing." - a complete lack of basic understanding of one of the most fundamental financial concepts. Strange, considering how keen you normally are to engage in "future divi" conversations.
You then get defensive, trying to divert attention from your mistake and attempt to take the focus off subject.
In conclusion, a complete clown.
It's never too late to learn, they say. Too late for you I guess.

"I know there's no chance.
But if you don't ask you don't get."
this is rest of the post........... KOH........... !
All the best (the important bit you missed out :)
Chesh
I quoted that in my original post. The point is he was actually hoping the the "revenue" of a loss making company could be "passed on to us as pre production divi" lol He then expresses a lack of hope and belief of such likelihood by stating "there is no chance" but then continues to theorize by stating "but if you don't ask you don't get".
No mate, you "don't get" not because you "don't ask" but because there is one big nothing in distributable reserves account :)
lol

Anyone who chooses to read that brief divi conversation yesterday will know that it was indeed mentioned in jest and that it was a bit of idle curiosity on a slow day to talk about how much the sale of soil removal would equate to per share.
Not only do you struggle with the meaning of words you now choose to omit bits of what I actually said to try to press your point ( thanks Chesh for pointing out his deliberate omission ).
If you think someone who's been invested here and in the stock market generally for nearly forty years doesn't know the basics of dividend payment then that's for you to decide.
Maybe your terror ( your description) at being invested here has robbed you of your sense of humour and light hearted banter which some of us on here engage in from time to time.
Anyway, I've gotta go for today. On my hols and the mountains beckon. And when I say I've got to go I do mean it. So if you want to have the last word on the subject and which was started over the weekend about your struggle with the meaning of a simple word then feel free.

Maybe, or maybe you just struggle with basics and get defensive when others expose you :)
Have a lovely time
