Jefferies and UBS will just set Algos to farm buy from the market to meet the daily buyback quota ...the market makers holding the shares can up the ask from the lows knowing there are guaranteed daily buyers now
Been kept within nice range all day. Though will it fill the gap bellow or move higher first?
Always a good thing!!

There is probably a share overhang at the moment given the recent sell and price drop.....but ..soaking up some of those shares each day at a discounted price is a good decision that will benefit them later on
They are looking to buy around 10% of total issued shares ... that should give a positive push higher. Gla
(Sharecast News) - Spirent Communications said it would start a £56m share buyback on Monday.
The testing equipment maker said the first £28m tranche of two would complete by the end of June.
Does seem a good price to top up at, which I've just done. This and PRTC. Not totally confident in this market enviroment, but who dares etc. Would love to see the shorters have a bad time.
Berenberg pointed out that current prices are a great entry point. H1 will be weak as companies delay spending but the 5G commitments are real and will have to take place eventually. SPT will have a much better H2 and 2024 guidance ought to be strong.
UBS raises Spirent Communications to 'buy' (neutral) - price target 244 (280) pence
Viavi trades on 31x PE. The sell off in SPT does look overdone. They have said that performance will be in H2 and that it is largely recurring revenue. Should get re-rated later in the year.
A Director's buy is always a good sign.
Been in my sights for a while, bought in today at 176p - looks like a bargain for such a sound company.
Buy:Sell Ratio today was 5.5 : 1 with steady increase in SP through the day.
Clearly vulnerable now after this slide, will be in play v soon I’m expecting an approach as has great balance sheet with plenty of cash ,only a matter of time imo
At the end of the day. Got to be a takeover target now surely?
ex div day, was always going to fall by at least 4p. 9p seems excessive tho, bought this as a short term trade after it fell due to results expecting a 3-6 mont return..... then it fell, and fell, and fell.
looks like it was right decision to take cash yesterday
What a day, all my holdings are down with the exception of SPT.
Everyone must be holding for the dividend.
only Spirent is in the green today so i took some cash out ,tomorrow is another day ,
not to mention the bid potential by a USA predator - £3 will be the price at some time 2023/24.
ex div tomorrow 16th 4.12p
so undervalued but dividend is nice for now topping up all the way
Berenberg raises Spirent Communications to 'buy' from 'hold' -price target 250 (300) pence
Various directors / chairman / associated persons have each bought circa £40 - 50k worth of shares this week, with their own money. This is a strong vote of confidence in the company and it’s prospects.
Not the biggest purchase but sign of confidence, I have nearly as much as him and will be adding to my position, it’s a a very cheap quality co and if doesn’t rally next few months I can honestly see some corporate action here
Spirent Communications PLC - Crawley-based provider of testing, analytics and security for telecommunications networks - Non-Executive Director Jonathan Silver buys 30,000 shares at £1.79 each, worth £53,795, in London on Friday. Silver is now interested in 100,000 shares.
Current stock price: 178.60 pence, down 2.2% on Friday afternoon in London
12-month change: down 27%
"177...ahead of the 4-5% dividend!!??"
this dividend of 4.12p is 2.3% @179p...depends on how the market sees things the other side of ex-div as to whether folks might jump in for it
