......you had the opportunity to get in on an early stage medical sensor, prior to ipo, that links up to the internet of everything, with no near competitor, already with regulatory approval in a major market, repeat orders from leading teaching hospitals, and promised 5xcapitalisation, investment from a respected investor at 5 times the price you are being offered for shares.......is that an offer from a Nigerian Prince?
This from their update today..... Sphere Medical Sphere Medical has been a publicly-listed business since 2011, and has been held as a position in the Patient Capital portfolio since April 2015. Since then, the company has progressed broadly according to plan, successfully developing and launching its miniature blood gas analyser, Proxima. Despite this progress, its share price has steadily declined, reflecting a lack of institutional investor interest in early-stage, science-based businesses, almost regardless of the quality of their technology. As a result, the company no longer sees any benefit to being a quoted company and on 21 August, it announced it was pursuing a delisting. We continue to recognise the investment potential of Proxima, particularly the 4th generation product that is currently in development, which has the potential to open up the lucrative US market. We support Sphere’s decision to delist and focus on the development of this ground-breaking product as a private business.
Del , youve added more shares , good luck and thanks for this sharing this interesting journey this last 2.1/2 years ,
Back then (if my memory serves me) they came to market with a Cap of around £25 million. They had no CE for Proxima back then... They have had lots of slippage and more funding since then but at least they have a product that can be marked for selling. They are delisting with a market value less then £1 million.....In the short term they are scaling back on sales to concentrate on getting a final product version to tackle a bigger market....They are keeping both facilities, so that signals to me that they will maintain current support for present customers and use feed back to help in the final developed unit... That makes sense to me......I have picked up my last tranche of shares before delisting and will hope for a brighter future. The blood gas market is been driven by technological change...no question...and while they will still be used...I think Woodford may be looking at the not to distant future with Proxima..... In our hospital...we have begun to price blood transfusion...they cost approx...€500 per unit!!! There is also a growing shortage of blood supply, to the point that they may very well start paying instead of volunteering as is the current practice!!! Anyway all the best to the LTHs here...and the best in the future....
My view is that Odds of Sphere coming out of this with a decent sale of the technology are maybe around 50:50. Add in the chance that PIs may be shafted/diluted to hell and maybe the odds a good adjustment. What price will this come out at? My guess is that Woodford would not be playing for small meat and I would expect us to reappear at 50p share remembering Woodford has an average maybe 10-20 times current prices So maybe a 5:1 chance of 100:1 gains. Another way to look at it is via the market capitalisation, currently less than a million. I've seen mention that institutions don't touch healthcare companies at less than £100m which could be Ws reappearance level. Loads of buried investment in a tech with huge barriers going for a few hundred grand - got to be a bargain but high risk too. I'm in for a nice round figure and will forget about and maybe have a nice retirement creating prezzie in 5 years time
Reporter to be Woy..." congratulations Roy on your new appointment, did you tweet any body on the news?".."Yes I did i tweeted the Missus to a dinner"heh heh heh!
Palace are going to be delisted as well....LOL. Sorry JL & rugs...couldn't resist it...too few days left here so ****!!
Afternoon all...yea can catch up on advfn but I doubt there will be much to talk about...tbh it's pretty much a 'gonner' as far as I'm concerned. I have written off my investment in Sphere to zero as imo that's the sensible strategy as how are we to make any sense of how the Co performs from now on? To be honest cellis I'm kinda tapped out on anything of interest to say now...all the waffle, hopes and dreams have led us to an uninvestible stock teetering on the edge of an abyss. Thank goodness we have only two more days of 'roll the dice' trading which might see us at 0.20 or less....WGAF? I sure don't!
Can always catch up with you on SPO or will sign up the ADVFN , I've enjoyed our chats sadly all too often it's all been about bad news
cellis get serious! A penny by Christmas....tops!
2030
£1 by Christmas
Doing the delist Bananas dance 1p+ ????
It's a Friday and the " I wouldn't want to be holding these, over the wk/end" merchants will close out. Goodness knows if anyone is making money at this very late stage in Spherelife? I wouldn't bother as it's purely a spin of the wheel and a nos game. Total waste of time imo though that does not apply to those who intend a lth backing W to succeed where others before him have abjectly failed. A grand buys you c 200k so if we ever got to 5...a prospective profit in the making. It's a long shot but there's risk in any investment and I reckon it's worth a punt on two counts. a) W finds a buyer & b) we return to the markets in a few years. Factor in c) W fails.
Shorts closing?
Yea the bloody Lone Ranger!! That's one jockey I missed... as for all forms of betting I will have to drastically reduce now I cannot fall back on Sphere if I have a bad month. Sphere's near demise is impacting me in ways I never considered! Yup the Ortho deal was a bummer no doubt about it and given the vast size of the US I'm leaning more and more for a private sale to a hedge fund or another med device Co to take Sphere onwards from 2020. I don't think W needs the hassle in trying to crack America for as we have been so unsuccessful in the UK (so far) how tough is it going to be in the US? Nah he won't want any of that I'm sure! Get us to P5 and move on......(if he does not fancy returning to the UK public market). We will have to sit on the side lines, watch and wait. Lazarus was brought back to life after 4 days can W perform a similar miracle here?
Just picked by ITV7 horses - off to Derby to look after grandkids , --remembering when I was 9 or 10 Dad said pick some horses, so I went down the races in the newspaper and marked off one in each race , hard to believe I know 32 races I picked 23 bloody winners and only about 4 weren't placed , must have lost my touch -ITV7 best so far 3 winners
Cellis....I still think one of the big disappointments was Ortho not taking up world wide distribution deal...We were unlucky with the timing of the Carlyle group taking a new roll in Ortho...or some thing of that nature That and direct selling were never going to make any real inroads with a new technology.... Unless the distributor has a proven name...it really is hard to get inside the doors on hospitals and even harder to get in front of the right person with the product.. With £5 million coming in...the document says that is sufficient funds for a year... But we were burning about £500,000 per month.. the monthly spend will be reduced by about 40% per month...so the spend will be about £300,000 per month. The option on the warrants stands for about 1 year...So possibly another £5 million if needed there @ 2.82p So with a reduced spend of around £3 million per anum..£10 million could possibly last over 3 years if needed..... At least that is how I am looking at it....Time will tell...
Charges me £10.50 a quarter to run my account , same for purchases and £29.95 to sell if I bought in buy the time 4/5 years of costs plus my carry over losses and will i live long enough to see a profit I don't know , John said he'd leave it to his heirs , sod that I'd like it for myself first , and can a revamped P4 succeed , unless Woodford has pulled a fast one I can't see it , maybe the attitude needed is a more predominant US get up and go rather than a British more conservative approach "if it's not broken " etc . I shall be keeping my fingers crossed for you
Thought as much ,---- I hate to correct you again John , but it was The Lone Ranger and Tonto , but I guess Trigger helped out ,he certainly matched them , but only in the leg department , his four legs match their four ! !
I think the traders had their spike last Friday...well looking like it.... I think to trade now would be expensive, especially for a share about to delist...When I bought mine last week I had a two day payment trade.....Not sure if you could get much volume now...no idea....I would have preferred a quicker delisting but I think under regulations there has to be a minimum number of trading days active before a cancellation.... Only 3 to endure...then it will be off the radar....As I posted earlier...I think the web site will remain open and we may get some news over the next few years....
Coming to the end of the road methinks...before the next 5m sells occur...heh heh heh!! Not even half a mill traded........ what's going on? Has everyone abandoned the sunken wreck of the ss sphere? Short termers should realise that 0.4- 0.6 is the range of the sp for the next three days.... do not expect a white knight to come galloping over the hills to rescue you....ain't gonna happen, well outside of Buck Rogers or Tonto & Trigger?.. I was a Tom Mix man myself and he's def passed away! Oh for the simple old days of cowboys & Indians!
Of course W might want to package Sphere 'ready & able' for the US market and hopefully sell us on to a developer. In that case further funding might not be required?
Morning cellis I'm only going by daily vols but yes your right on the 51m...however to get us into US hospitals and set up distribution etc..will, I'm sure require more cash and that's surely nearer 2020. Whatever the 2-5 year time scale (from now) most likely covers most eventualities.
That is what I am working of Cellis... The CPS £5 million...and perhaps the warrants next year.....I would be really surprised if any IIs or other private investors were to take up the CPS...but then it may very well appeal to some investors...the CPS certificates...in the private company...
