we must still be aware of the next 3 month set of trading figures considering the PE ratio being what it is If share holders don't feel confident about EBITDA levels this will fall again at the next review ..... Director selling was also high in Nov/ Dec which gave the jitters to some .......
Good to see 4.42% rise today...
excellent top up yesterday and today , looking to get to 550p soon.
Averaged down at 500. Looking at the chart there appears to be a lot of support in the 440 - 450 range. What does everyone think as this would be my next and last top up.
This was posted beginning of December 17.. 'In the past 2 and a half months various directors have sold roughly 13,242,259.51 worth of shares. Doesn't exactly fill the shareholder with confidence, especially selling while the share price is falling.' Clearly the directors had the full information that we received in the over the last fortnight... That cant be right...cashing in their shares as they knew this would drop.
Whilst today is a real sickener for holders it has given me my entry point. I have been watching for some time and can't believe todays reaction. I am however delighted to have acquired £6,000 worth of shares at 504p, expenting this to be a very profitable investment this year
look at the bigger picture mate, markets are very volatile at the moment .
My sentiments exactly Amp and Casa I can think of many many companies who would give their back teeth for a glorious statement like this one. And yet the price falls , however i was in at the beginning and have seen this rocket from below 2.50 to peak at 6.70 SP still has masses of potential and expect 8.20? as a sensible 12 month peak
Is the headline. Enough for a massive slap. If operating profit was up 20% I'm sure we would be up by only 3 to 4%.
The RNS looked OK - anyone have a view on today's drop? Thanks Casa
Irrespective of the Mail, the outlook is bullish and I have a target of 790p based on Fibonacci extension. However, it has to convincingly break 660p before it heads higher. This week is the 5th test of that on a weekly time-frame, so it looks ready to blow.
so far so good , tip of the year 2018
<b>Saturday Mail TiP Of The Year For 2018......... BENEFIT FROM CYBER ATTACKS by James Coney</b> Attacks on major companies by hackers have become a commonplace part of the modern world. In the past 12 months weve seen raids on the NHS, and the multi-nationals. Data security and protecting IT systems have become critical issues for all the worlds major organisations. This is what Sophos does best, and is why I believe its recent growth its up by more than 100pc in the last year is set to continue. Free investing guides Its expertise in encryption, firewalls and in stopping hackers from breaching company computer systems is indispensible, and it is very difficult for individual companies to develop themselves. These small firms need the expertise of a specialist like Sophos. And it has also been gobbling up rivals to expand further. The companys shares were at 570p yesterday, and have peaked at 621.50p during the past year. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DSycb5KWAAAtdXh.jpg Read more: <a href='http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-5221985/Top-stocks-2018-Share-punts.html#ixzz53KCtKLhh' target='window'>http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-5221985/Top-stocks-2018-Share-punts.html#ixzz53KCtKLhh</a> Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
<b>Sophos Group Protects small and medium sized businesses against cyber hacks Market worth 40bn and growing quickly Over 100m users in 150 countries</b>
SOPH Sophos.....Hargreaves Lansdown tip 4 of 5 for the top 2018...... Investment idea #4 <b><u>Sophos Group - benefit from the cyber threat</b></u> <b><i>A string of high-profile hacks mean the consequences of not investing in cyber security are all too evident. Perhaps no surprise then, that companies are scrambling to shore up their cyber defences. Sophos Group, a company providing software to protect small and medium-sized businesses, should benefit from this. The group uses a network of over 30,000 independent partners to sell and distribute its products. Over 100m users in 150 countries now rely on it for IT security and Sophos says the market is worth in the region of 40bn, and growing quickly. It is the only company to offer a high standard of both network and end user protection. This means customers benefit from a joined up service under a centralised system. Contracts run for up to five years, retention rates are impressive and last year Sophos generated an average of 29% more business from contracts up for renewal. At present, the company is focused on investing in this opportunity rather than paying dividends, meaning the prospective yield is just 0.8%. With impressive growth, Sophos's potential hasn't gone unnoticed by the market though. The shares have enjoyed a strong run recently, and trade on a premium valuation of 85 times expected earnings. Were not put off by the high rating, but it certainly adds a layer of risk. If the company fails to deliver on the markets high expectations, the share price could suffer. Part of the reason the rating is so high is that accounting convention means Sophos's near-term earnings look artificially low. The costs of winning a contract are accounted for up-front, but the revenues are spread over the life of the deal. For example, the group generated $133m of free cash flow last year, compared to adjusted profits of $38m. We often look at a company and say profits look great, but where is the cash? With Sophos, in the short-term at least, it's the other way round. Given the choice, this is how we'd like it. After all, it's not without justification they say cash is king.</b></i>
SOPH Sophos... SOPH..Sophos taken a big long position here. Cyber security. The market for this work must be enormous. Hargreaves Lansdown has an article on 5 Investment Ideas for 2018, and Sophos is #4. All the best for 2018 to all.....
Agreed. In the past 2 and a half months various directors have sold roughly £13,242,259.51 worth of shares. Doesn't exactly fill the shareholder with confidence, especially selling while the share price is falling.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-15/sophos-bests-silicon-valley-with-u-k-cybersecurity-for-novices Decent summary of Sophos posted today on Bloomberg. GLA
It's getting hard to ignore all this selling.
I have no idea why everyone is bashing the BoD. What they did was the best thing they could have done given the circumstances. They sold half their stake (probably at a huge gain) to control the risk of result of falling SP following news of the exec stepping down. They would never have known the full extent of the drop following this news, fair play to them IMO good strategy. And if you read the half year results with any brain cells you would of realised given the timing that they have been very reserved with the results, another good strategy Good company to hold medium to long term especially given the hot topic of espionage elsewhere
Directors/instituitions decided to take "cash" at such an extremely rapid growth point Investors get the jitters .... The intention was posted (had to be) the day prior to it happening for all to see Institutional divestment was probably the biggest cause of the SP drop Cyber intelligence businesses of this type in a world of terror and espionage have massive opportunity for growth Expect SP to hit £8 within 6 months
Hopefully Today's 5.19 low is the bottom. Bought back in yesterday at 5.375 in hope that it was the low but it dropped. Will more than likely hold until at least the Feb 2018 trading update.
Anybody got an idea where our bottom is.
Agreed. Gave the shareholders a right royal shafting there and filled everyone with a boatload of confidence.
