A cover of Blink-182’s All The Small Things is featured in this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert.
The highly coveted sync last year featured a cover of Electric Dreams by Lola Young.
All The Small Things was written and recorded by Blink-182 in 1999. Hipgnosis has a share in the track, following its deal for 100% of the writer’s and publisher’s share of Tom DeLonge’s catalogue (administered by Sony Music Publishing). The original version has 761 million streams on Spotify.
Kobalt has the majority publishing share of the song as the publisher for both Blink-182's Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus.
The John Lewis campaign, which debuts on TV tonight during ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, features a cover of All The Small Things by Mike Geier. Titled The Beginner, the advert features a foster family.

Share buyback seems to be having an impact this morning. I bought in at 79.9 yesterday so looking at a small but welcome increase.
Even The Mail on Sunday gets confused - from today's edition:
"In recent days, it emerged that Hipgnosis Songs could end up owning the rights to Pink Floyd's back catalogue. The fund already owns the rights to more than 65,000 songs from artists such as Amy Winehouse, Nirvana and Rihanna"
Someone doesn't like us anymore.
On the other hand - others happy to buy what was available.
Could it be because what despite revenue increase costs grow at higher pace?
(resulting to net loss of 12.5m instead of profits like last year of 39m)
So the trust announces guaranteed increase in future income plus backdate amounts and the share price goes down. I give up!
Just checked & came through today - hope yours did too!
Quick update been told tomorrow at the latest
I’m actually reassured it’s not just me lol, I’ve mailed them again to ask why !
I was going to ask the same, no dividend since Mar-15th and the November one came through on time. I'm with IG as well
Hargreaves Lansdown & iDealing both paid on March 15.
Is anyone still waiting for last weeks dividend ? I’m with IG who are saying they are still to receive it.
I rather fear that many will have read it wrong and assumed SONG are now the owners of the Leonard Cohen catalogue and hence pushed up the price today.
I'm braced for when realisation sets in.
Contacted Investor relations at SONG and see that Alliance have now issued a correction
Shame Alliance News could not get the facts correct - no mention of it on the SONG website. Cannot find the original press release or announcement
Yes, sorry FiniteElement. I was being sarcastic.
I agree - the worry is that MM now has a nice big source of money and will use this to buy catalogues at "our" expense. I guess we have to hope that time will roll on and we will eventually benefit from the crumbs of future Blackstone acquisitions.
